Offshore VS US based bookie using a price per head shop

With football about to start, I'm trying to decide which way to go this year. Every year I grow more concerned about having my money at an offshore book. So far I have always been able to get my funds out after football is over, but with each football season there seems to be another push by our government to do what it can to stop offshore betting.

Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I'm thinking of trying to find a local who uses a price per head shop to go through this year. That way I can still bet online but settle with someone in the US.

What are your thoughts?

Thanks

There has been problems with Agents using a PPH shop too. So don't think you will be worry free about getting your Money each week.

Not saying it's going to happen, But Be Aware when going the "Local" way.

The PPH route has to get money off-shore as well. But we are talking about far less money movement. And it isn't YOUR problem, that's between the agent and the shop. If you can find a guy that is accounatable to paying on time when you win, then it is great. The other aspect is that you aren't likely to get the same odds as a sportsbook. Futures and props often have less favorable payouts, and they often have more restrictions on parlays and other hookups.

In my experience .....If you can, find yourself an asian bookie. These guys are notorious for giving -105 and in many cases they are flat lines, they generally have the least restrictions, plus they seem to be good about paying. The worst are New York guys. Maybe because they deal with so many deadbeats themselves, but it's always the New York guys that don't pay and you have to shut their accounts off or players are calling that they cant get paid.

Thanks Bet All ... At least then I'm only getting screwed out of 1 weeks winnings vs all the my initial deposit plus accumulated funds in an offshore account.

Obviously it depends on the amount you bet to, much easier to lay large on games online than with a local...

If you already know of a reliable local, then you have a real question on your hands, but if you don't, going through the hassle of finding one is much tougher than getting payouts from a reputable offshore....

Plus, more options for what to bet on, ability to line shop, bonuses, ect... Offshore although isn't perfect right now, it still gets the job done for me....

Thanks Defying ... No I do not know a local. My old local passed away due to cancer two years ago. I had bet through him for over 10 years, we had become friends and enjoyed the back and forth each week depending who was up at the time. I do not expect to find that type of relationship again, but I do admit to having enjoyed it much more than using an offshore account. I'm a small/mid level gambler who will bet 8 to 10 CFB games a week. Most of them for $200 per game. So with an offshore I have to prefund at least $2K minimum and hope that at the end of the season ! if I am up I can get that back plus winnings. That is what I am concerned about ...

Its all about finding a quality out whether it be post up offshore or a local with a pph. Both can stiff you and both can be solid. If you were betting 2k per game it would be a no brainer to use the local imo. The amount you are betting it makes it a coin toss. The guy that said locals that use pph give you much worse odds in my experience is wrong. He is right about asians though they all deal 105. Not saying they all are rock solid on paying. In fact I lean the other way.

If I were you I'd find a buddy that uses a local and has for awhile, get him to set you up. I'd talk specific numbers with your friend who sets you up. If he's settling figures like 200 buck with the guy and you're gonna be settling 2k then that does not mean he can handle your action. Bookies love to act like they can handle bigger action than they really can. If you aren't comfortable with this or can't find this then I'd post up at 5dimes and another spot like heritage or legends and just play there. Your money will probably be a little safer at the offshore place, but the down side is its less convenient and you have more money actually invested since its post up.

the last thing you want to do though is respond to the 9 pm's you're gonna get from scam artists that troll sites like this looking for people like you. Nobody solid is gonna pm you and solicit you. That is a fact.

thats my nickels worth.

Thank you ... Guess I'm going to end up posting up. BTW I'd say that was worth more than a nickle...
