Australian Rules Football (Round 21)

Here is the Ladder, Schedule and Best Bet for Round 21 of Australian Rules Football. Red Dog Sports/Dr. T is one of the few handicappers that follows the sport that combines rugby, soccer and American football. I lost last week's pick on Geelong as the Cats were small favorites and ended up losing by five points.

LADDER

1: Hawthorn
2: Sydney
3: Collingwood
4: Adelaide
5: Geelong
6: North Melbourne
7: Fremantle
8: St Kilda
9: West Coast
10: Essendon
11: Carlton
12: Richmond
13: Brisbane
14: Western Bulldogs
15: Melbourne
16: Port Adelaide
17: Gold Coast
18: Greater Western Sydney

SCHEDULE

St. Kilda at Geelong (Geelong won and covered early Friday)
Carlton at Essendon
Melbourne at Greater Western Sydney
Richmond at Fremantle
North Melbourne at Collingwood
Adelaide at Brisbane
Sydney at Western Bulldogs

BEST BET
Gold Coast at Hawthorn
2:40am Sunday morning (August 19, 2012)
pick: Gold Coast +104.5

Hawthorn will be at home and is one of the best teams in the league at 14-5. They have been playing without star Lance Franklin for a month and he should be able to play key minutes this week. However, the Hawks do have a few injuries to slow them down. They have won several games by more than 100 points so it won't be a shock for them to win by a huge amount. The point spread of 104.5 is the highest for the 2012 season.

Gold Coast won last week at home against Greater Western Sydney and now have two wins this year. I think Hawthorn wins big but saves some energy for bigger and better opponents in the weeks ahead. GL!
