Legit ones, do they work? I think Chiropractic alone won't, but if they do thearpy with it I believe in it.

It depends on what it is you need. The problem with chiropractors is they're not medical doctors. They work on your back the same as physical therapists. Some are better than others and use different techniques. Some use the machine for electronic impulse which is ok. It works the muscles for like 20-25 mins. up and down your back. Some use only their hands for adjustments and bend you a few different ways and crack your neck and back. Some use a combination of both. If you need some back help and your insurance will pay why not give it a try? I don't think it can hurt, one visit may do wonders.

someone here was just talking about going to get his masters to be a chiropractor... wish I remember who it was, thinking it was a steelers fan...

I've been going to one my whole life,.... well not in the last 5 years....I wonder if going as a kid is the reason I have a bad back now?? IDK... just doesn't make sense for a 8 yo to be there IMO....

Anyways, my 2nd to last chiropractor really pinpointed one of my problems. My legs get so tight it pulls on my lower back.... so just regular stretching of the legs has helped that... So I really really appreciated the medical advice... didn't have insurance, and was great advice that I wouldn't of known on my own.... still not a strong back but plan on working on that once i lose more weight...

However, I been to 25+ different chiropractors in my life and would say they all been different.....

I had terrible migraines in HS. really affected my life, my chiropractor really helped with those, only had em maybe once or twice last 10 years....

I have three herniated (slipped) disks in my lower back. If you want my advice try to get one that will use their hands to crack your back and neck and do adjustments. The machine is ok but it just sends impulses and in my opinion is not truly as effective. But you may try and see which one you like because you're not stuck to just one if you don't commit and sign up for a certain amount. Just go and see if you like them first and try someone else. Again I played the game with them so I know.

CB, explain

IMO, it's all psychological. I went as a kid after a sports related neck injury....and just stopped going after complaining to my folks that it wasn't helping....and I was perfectly fine. I think most people buy into the bs and are partially hypochondriacs.

i can see that CB. I had him telling me all this shit about this and that with all these stupid ass names why something is the way it is. you can only tell so much from an x-ray. seems kinda dishonest to me, i may opt for PT or a orthopedic. This is not made up, I am having pain, but he acts like he can cure me by cracking my back a few times a week. i dunno, it might work. he has worked on all the Reds and Bengals players, so i dunno

An MRI will tell more than an x-ray. From what I understand X-rays will not show a herniated disk.

Yes back pain is the worst. I don't care what anyone says. When you have a bad back you can not move or even get out of bed and it plays a big mental game on your head.

I had a pinched nerve in my upper left shoulder/neck area for 2-3 years before I finally went and after a few visits it acutally went away.

Find one of those machines that you can lock your legs in and hang upside down.

I had that lower left back pain that ran down the hip and leg (too much basketball coming down through the years) and it helped me.

Only flared up once since then, and repeated the process, and worked again.

If you envision it, it's basically like a jammed finger.

You need to hang and separate that top from the bottom that's creating the pinch.

Not saying it will work for everyone but it also worked for the guy who talked me into trying it...
