There is supposed to be 1 bar for so many years a poster has been a member here, and a specific number of posts.
Sometimes, if we notice a poster's is way off we try to get it close.
But posters can give each other rep as well, but as some of yuou have probably noticed, you have to spread it around to 20 posters before you can credit that same poster again...

The years have nothing to do with how many bars you recieve.
But it does have an effect on how much your own personal rep given to another poster does.
It takes 100 to create a Green Bar.
Each poster begins with a number of 10, meaning when you give Rep to another poster, 10 pts goes towards that 100.
Each year you are a member and for every 1,000 posts your voting strength goes up 1 point.
But Remember... Posters can also dislike you and take away from your credit given from others.
