LOL Moocow, I dont do drugs but after seeing this trade I may start...It sucks for Boston but I guess we are gonna dump the heavy contracts and start the team from scratch :(

Player to be named..unless its Kemp, this trade is terrible

I hear we tried to add Bobby Valentine to the trade for free but they said no :)

Boston has a player that played for Carolina, Jackie Bradley, Jr., I look forward to when Boston calls him up. He is a hell of a player.

Can't believe Boston is dumping all that talent.

Keep in mind that next year Boston is gonna look like they are playing with a Triple A team BUT, they are gonna have around 300 million to spend and make deals with.

I could understand everyone but Gonzalez. He is the one of the best 1b in the league if you factor in defense. Unless one of those guys is some sort of Mike Trout or Bryce Harper it has to be one of the most lopsided trades ever.

i can't really see that being the line up. id rather see hanley or crawford at the top of the lineup but i guess neither of them like that position. so i think it'll be more like

1. victorino
2 crawford (if he gets anywhere near his tampa days)
3 kemp
4 goncalez
5 hanley
6 ethier

if crawford starts sucking again i could see him being moved down to the 6 while putting hanley at 2 and ether at 5

Well Crawford wont play til next year so i left him off the everyday lineup but yeah, who knows how they will do it BUT, im a big BOSOX fan and Im telling you, this trade will clear room for Josh Hamilton and some good pitching coming our way

true, i forgot he was out for the year. and i just realized my lineup is impossible since it was 4 outfielders, guess victorino is done after this year. as far as this year, i really can't see them not putting gonzalez that far down in the lineup

my new lineup is

1 shane
2 ellis
3 kemp
4 gonzo
5 hanley
6 ethier
7 ellis
8 punto

although id prefer to see hanley hit in the 2 spot and move ethier up to the 5. that would give us a great combination of speed, power, and average with the top 3, then gonzo and ethier to bring them in

I love how everyone is writing off Boston now, LMFAO. Next year maybe??

ciriaco SS
ellsbury cf
pedroia 2nd
Josh Hamilton?? LF
ortiz dh
middlebrooks 3rd base
saltalamaccia c
Ross RF

now we will need a 1st base but i also expect them to trade or somehow aquire a good 1st basman plus who esle know what they will do with 300 million free after this salary dump. Just that lineup alone i just posted along with better pitching will make Boston challenge any team next year

Dodgers are getting the worst of this IMO, a lot of high salary crap and injury riddled Carl cry baby. Teams need to do what the Marlins do evaluate talent not try to buy it. The Yanks might win a lot of games, but that means nothing if you aren't in the show at the end.

I think Boston did exactly what they needed to do. I agree TTratter, but this will help the Dodgers right away and that what they wanted. In the next few years though, they will be stuck with these big contracts and Boston will have reloaded

Awesome move for Boston....just got rid of two huge (unnecessary) contracts and a below average pitcher.

Beckett will probably do better in LA but he was done here. Crawford never fit in. Gonzalez...hell of a player but oh well.

Sox have lots of room to move into free agency. Lets hope they spend their money better this time around.
