Spaceman Lee became the oldest pitcher to win a professional baseball game at age 65...he beat a team from Maui, 7-4 and went the distance...he played for a team from San Rafeal, Calif in the National American Baseball League...

I only know this because my daughter called me and said she attended the game...she is currently in Oakland, Calif attending a seminar and grant study for one month..she is going back to New York City at the end of the month...I was really surprised to get her phone call as she knew I would be interested in the news....

w/the news this wk abt roger clemens pitching in an independent league, there seemed to be somewhat of a stink on talk-radio and such. it mostly seemed to go, 'what's he trying to prove?', etc. i couldn't help but think of bill lee. lee does it and it's very cool. clemens does it, and it's not cool. if you're fifty yrs old you can't want to step up on the mound and give it a go, just for the fun of it?
