Incredible. Boston will regret this but it was an untenable situation after he fell out with Valentine and blamed last seasons collapse on Gods will.

He's a gamer though and gives 100% with the bat and his underrated glove.

He could be the difference for them.

The Dodgers were ripped off. The took on salary for Crawford and Beckett that no one else would have.
Not to mention a couple of decent prospects.

With Billingsley a question mark, the are not going to win the division anyway.

The deal will have no affect on which team wins the NL West. Boston wasn't winning with these guys and neither will the Dodgers. Moving from the American League to the National League is a big change particularly this late in the season. The Giants and their fans, yours truly included, are laughing at all the moves the Dodgers have made and their only getting worse. Not even sure they land one of the two wild card spots.

Don't think the Dodgers care about adding the salary for Crawford and Beckett, doubt if they are counting on those two anyway, this was about getting alot better production at 1st base then they have all year..

yea we might as well not play the last 35 games , your right its over.. Giants have such an overwhelming team, I'm sure they will win all of the playoff series in sweeps...

I said nothing about the playoffs. I watch every game the Giants play and following the suspension of Melky Cabrera, this team has come together like they did in August and September of 2010 only they have better hitting and their pitchers have 2 more years of experience. Nobody thought they would win then and nobody gives them a chance now. All they did was beat Atlanta 3-1, Philadelphia 4-2 and Texas 4-1. The Giants have now gone 7-1 and 5 in a row. Good pitching beats good hitting everyday of the week and the Giants have not only the starters but middle relievers and closers by committee. The Nationals are the only team that matches them in starting pitching. The Dodgers are average in that area and their bats are hot and cold. Mark my word, the Giants will run away with the NL West and the Dodgers may or may not make the playoffs.

Someone brought up the point that they acquired Adrian Gonzales for 7 years and 250,000,000 (the total of the contracts). That is another way of looking at it.

Beckett might have something left. Crawford might turn out to be something.

$35,000,000 a year for AG?

lol you said the deal will have no effect on who wins the NL west. Umm, pretty sure getting an AS caliber 1B can help you win baseball games. I'm far from a baseball expert but if a hitter hits better than theguy you replace him with, therefore that means you win more games over time.
