Looking at the recent Boston and LA blockbuster I have asked myself how is it possilbe that all players involved were picked up by either The Sox or LA. You mean that not a single played involved brought any interest by any other club that was higher in the order of selecting players placed on waivers?

Sounds a bit like collusion (sp) to me

As I understand waivers is that once a player is placed on waivers the teams in reverse order of standings get to go first and so on.. Am I wrong...??

If I am mistaken please clear up my errors Thanks

I thought it was odd that such a trade could be made, as well.

Because if a team claims a player, they will be stuck with him for a small waiver fee:

If Houston claimed AGonz and Crawford, to prevent someone else from getting him and Boston and Houston can't work a deal out. Boston just pays the waiver fee (not sure how much that is) and Houston is now on the hook for their contracts.

Essientally, if you are claiming a guy, you guaranteed to take on his salary (unless he is a 10/5 guy), then the claim can be dissolved.

all houston had to do was claim agon...not beckett, crawford was out so wasnt part of waivers. if houston claimed agon, the sox wouldnt work out a deal and wouldnt let him go
