Say you work for a sportsbook/telemarketer/survey/home repair/etc......could you call with a "who gives a shit" attitude?

Just make the call no matter what the person on the other end says and not let it effect your pitch for the next call?

Some are relentless. I think it is a talent that is either had, but not learned

The people that can are the people that succeed. It's not dissimilar to gambling actually: You're only as good as your last call(bet) and it's a daily grind.

Griff has a go getter attitude. I bet he does well that's why Robby keeps him around. Little short fused, but that "can be learned" to control, unlike not giving a shit what people say and moving on to the next call

Alot of "talented" pricks calling my cellphone lately. I can promise you, talented isn't one of the names I've used with them.

My first job in college was at a telemarketing place. I sold or at least lined up appointments for sales people and we sold windows and siding at a place called American Building Products. Getting people on the phone that wanted to hear from me was .001% anyway but let along people that wanted to buy windows and siding so my odds were probably .00001%.

I bet I placed 500 calls before I got a person that wanted to set something up. The script was awful that I had to read and people cussed me out all the time. Easily the worst job I've ever had in my life and I made it probably 3 weeks before I thought I might kill myself.

There was a guy there that was "good" at it around 40-45 years old and always AND I MEAN ALWAYS said "Hello Jeff? Did I catch you working hard or hardly working" to every person he called. I swear I wanted to punch him in the face more and more everytime I heard him say it. We also had a brother that worked there that talked so slow that most people made 5 calls to his one. He was almost as painful to have to listen to. Was one pretty hot chick that worked there but never did get to bang her.

I seriously felt like the most worthless person on the planet after a days work. Next to my kids being born probably the happiest day of my life was when I the day of going into work said no fucking way I'm going in ever again. Remember that day like it was yesterday.

So no, I could not do it

@) shit got me laughing. It takes a rare breed, smile and dial brother. lol

Thing is, people can be pricks, and they have to remember, on the other end of the phone the dude is just trying to make a living. It works, or businesses wouldn't hire it.

but I get what you are saying. I actually take time to talk to telemarkerters if I have time. something as simple as a "no thanks, i'm not interested" and hang up is better than cussing someone out

Delsol telemarketing 101

Boys...If I may, allow me to shed some light on this interesting subject.

I am a professional telemarketer. Been making calls 15 years. Now, I run a call center for the past 6 years with over 130 employees. I tell people that I get hung up on for a living.

It is a means to an end. It is a grind. Yet, you can easily make six figures ripping phone. Most have not the proper training, guidence, confidence or proven skill set in order to make it a career.

If you are interested, let me know. I would be more than glad to share advice or lend a hand. Making $100,000 is not hard if you have the endurance.

In case you are interested: we do not do sportsbooks, stocks, pharmacy, casino or sweepstake campaigns. You can still make the dough on legit projects.:103631605

Finally, those with that type of attitude can take the punch, just not deliver the blow. Style, composure, rhetoric, topic structure, focus, rhythm, tie downs, phonetics, semantics, pregnant pausing, etc...make up a good calling run. If my agents show that sort of disrespect, they are gone before lunch.

Just my 2 cents.
