Monday: 5-1, +.6 units. Man that Yankee loss was painful. Soriano is going to close that successfully 95+% of the time - and here he's facing the stinking, constantly losing Blue Jays. Would have had a big night. But let's pretend he gets that last out, and I'm possibly hot again. It was a good play. The Yanks did score 7 and get to Alvarez. Tuesday might be a pretend continuation of a winning streak here.

LAA. ML. One unit. This is even a better play. If I lose this, here comes football season!
LAA. -1. 2 units
LAA. RL 2 units. Valentine takes his team that basically is disgusted with his leadership out to the West Coast to play a pretty good team, with one of the best pitchers in the game. This team, the Angels, are desperate for wins, knowing that they are still contending for a wild card spot, but every loss is a crusher to their chances. Their ace is on the mound vs. a dispirited and fairly mediocre, stripped down team. Sold to the Dodgers. Ortiz is on the DL, the only guy that does hit Weaver. Weaver just out pitched Bucholz in Boston. Badly. If the Angels lose this game at home, they look like real losers. They will be very motivated and should also get Pujols back. The Angels have won 5 out of 6, including a sweep in Fenway. The Red Sox closer gets suspended for telling off Bobby. Let me say this- there are not many, if any, managers that get told off by a player AND have players talk to upper management behind his back - all in a few weeks. And that's just the stuff we are getting in the media. It's a lot worse in the Red Sox clubhouse and dugout. Like Ozzie, Valentine is a buffoon, and the veteran players are fed up with it.

The Red Sox are also playing young guys to see if they got anything to help them in the future. These young players won't have much luck vs. Weaver. Pedroia is 4-22 and Ellsbury 4-18 lifetime vs. Weaver. Both Bps are unreliable, but the Red Sox more so. Wait…… make it six units:
LAA -1/2. First 5 IPs. Guys, if you are tailing me, I apologize if this one doesn't pan out. This is my first year doing this and I have day job to boot. Also, football is right around the corner so hopefully you can win your money back.

The above play is my first 6 unit play of the season. I wish the Angels were playing Houston then I could make it 8 units!

Minnesota. -1. 3 units. Love this one too. The Twins have faced some great pitching and some hot teams in the past 2 weeks. They managed to win one in Texas, and then had to face King Felix. Before Texas, they faced the streaking Mariners, and the pitching rich A's. Seattle looked awful vs. Liam Hendriks on Monday, and Hendriks has been awful this year. On Sunday, they managed to only get 6 hits off the sliding Gavin Floyd and so-so middle reliever Santiago. I see a Twins team motivated to win a home game after this very tough stretch, and really the Twins lineup is much better than many in the AL, and way better than Seattle- especially when Seattle looks like they might be in a hitting funk. Iwakuma shut down the Twins in Safeco, but Iwakuma has been poor on the road, and has pitched better than his talent level. Scott Diamond is a left which works well vs. the lefty leaning lineup of Seattle. He has pitched very well at home, probably their best pitcher, and in his last 10 games has very low totals for HRs and walks. The Twins are managed well and do not give up even when their season is in the dumps. Besides, if they had any pitching depth, they would probably be contending.

ATL-1. One unit. I have won 3 games lately with the underdog Padres, but their streak is over I think. Medlen has been incredible, only giving up 3 runs in his last 32 IPs, over 5 starts. Werner won his debut with the slumping Pirates, but was getting rocked in the PCL. Werner was an undrafted free agent, and the Padres have been through a million starters this year due to injuries, so this guy likely does not have great stuff. He likely won't repeat his good debut performance, and even though the Padres are hitting well, good hitting teams can have a burp or a pause when facing very tough pitcher.
ATL- 1/2 . First 5 IPs.

Colorado. ML. (+154) One unit. Blowout of the Dodgers was no fluke Monday. The Rockies can hit, and hit well at home. They had a pitching disadvantage too- Beckett vs. Francis. Now it's Chatwood vs. Capuano. Capuano has pitched much worse on the road, and not as well in the 2nd half. Chatwood, who knows? He has had a couple of good starts lately. The Dodgers are loaded with high priced talent, but in Coors, and with a team that can score right along with them, this line is way too generous. Rockies have nothing to play for except knocking off high priced playoff contenders. Rockies BP has been surprisingly good in the past month.

Let's go ANGELS!!! I couldn't be any more confident myself in this play. Red Sox are stumbling down, and Angels are on a little winning streak. It's all about streaks in baseball. If this doesn't win, that's why they call it gambling......BUT i like our chances here. All over it! Good luck.

Actually great day yesterday with a 5-1 night. But we live and die with the big play. Unreal loss with NYY.

Big plays today right back. BOL

LAA is now a 6 unit play...do we add the last unit as a ML, RL or -1 play?

Also I am assuming that ATL -1.2 First five innings is a 1 unit play?

BOL fred and all.

Sorry about losing the big Yankee play. Soriano has been so consistent, but maybe took a day off from really concentrating. I don't know how many of you are playing the smaller plays but they seem to be keeping me from losing big.

Phillies. -1. One unit. The Mets are coming off 2 series vs. one team with terrible starting pitching(Rockies) and got swept in 4, and the AAA version of the Astros, and barely won 2 out of 3. Winning 2 out of 3 like they did is no source of pride. The Phillies meanwhile have played the better teams in the league, holding their own all month, and sweeping the Nats over the weekend. With the Nats great pitching, that has been hard for any team to do. The Phils are playing with pride, while the Mets are likely less than enthusiastic, and slumping badly- except Ike Davis. Both starters are pitching poorly, but the Phils BP has shown improvement lately . The Mets BP not so much, unless you count holding down the Astros in late innings. If not for a few terrific starts by Dickey, Niese and Hefner (vs. the above mentioned teams), the Mets would be in a horrific losing streak.

Im sure a lot of people are confident in the Angels today which is why they are -200, which is insane against a team that can hit like the Red Sox. I do think LAA wins but that a ton of chalk

This line opened at -175, I hit it at -182 last night and is now about -200. The lines certainly don't affect the game at all, but I guess I'm riding along with the public and any large players that are piling on.

Texas. ML. One unit. This play is a lineup differential play. Tampa's looks really bad, while Texas is playing their top guys. Besides, no evidence yet that Texas can't hit anyone and everyone after beating up on Price. Can Darvish be that bad?

Good to see Gardenhire challenge his players to step up in the last 35 games to see if they will be part of the Twins future. if they hadn't been facing Felix last night, Liam Hendriks would have had his first win and the Twins would have won.
