Was just talking to a friend of mine from the Chicago area and I asked him has he made any bets lately.

He said No not yet, but that he Fears making a Bet ??

Told him if he fears making bets, then Don't make them. He says it's part of Gambling for him.

I would say that if you have FEAR when you are making a wager, then a person is breaking Gambling's #1 Rule....

Don't Bet What You Can't Afford To Lose.


UNLESS... He's confusing Fear with adrenaline & excitement...

If the wager is big, I'll have a drink and usually drink it fast and then make the wager.

Oh yeah, it's part of the rush. At least a couple of times a year I'll make a large stupid bet just for the thrill. Grinding it out every day is all well and good but after a while it bores me. Sometimes I'll get buzzed up and say fuck it, let me get my heart racing for a couple of hours while I sweat out a large bet on let's say the University of ABCD vs Hawaii at midnight. Smart...NO...fun....YES
