If they lose Metzenberger at some time it could be bad. They have a stable of about 6 running backs but their offense(as we saw last January) must pass the ball to be effective. The backup right now is Phillip Rivers brother and behind him is the transfer from Penn State who has already shown hes not capable of leading a Top 5 program. I wouldnt make this wager either way.....Metzenberger though highly skilled is unproven, i cant believe that between january 12 when he wasnt even good enough to put in a game where they were being shut out and couldnt even cross midfield that just 8 months later he is ready to contend for a National Championship. He may be but its a HUGE "?".........
