This has got to be the biggest joke of all time. Wait till you see how many bad calls cost gamblers bets. The reverse will be that bettors on other side will know they got lucky. My hope is some outrageous calls will result in a team losing a game they should have won and miss the playoffs or putting them on the road for a playoff game. This game is hard enough to officiate with some of the best in the business. Fans and bettors bitch all the time about bad calls but for the most part these guys do a damn good job. They take pride in getting it right every time. The amount of money and other demands the refs want is nothing compared to players lockout. You have franchises worth a billion dollars and you can't reward guys who really work their ass off.

Ed Hochuli and friends will realize they cant find a better paying part time job and come back begging. There will be more mistakes but these guys are also trying to prove they belong. Perhaps less controlling of the game with phantom penalties to influence outcomes. That could be good for us.

Most of these refs have full time careers outside of football that pay the bills, they won't move on this anytime soon. Ed Hochuli has a pretty successful law practice that will keep him busy. Good luck betting on this crap, I will not even glance at nfl lines anymore.

they can't be any worse than the regular ones from years past.there have been so many bad calls from the regular refs in the nfl the last few years that it really won't make a difference

The NFL refs are making plenty of money at their so-called real jobs and, unlike players, probably save their cash instead of blowing it at clubs and are under no financial pressure to cave in. I'd be shocked if they came back without the league making some drastic concessions.
