Very bad spot for Giants.. Played late game in Houston (swept too), took late flight to Chicago and having to play a day game. Cubs high because they made a major comeback. Giants have to be tired.

11 o clock west coast time start,

Cubs FF and game

On a side note, Padres look really good too. Padres bats are pretty decent on the road, White is not a legit starter. Richard has been very, VERY good this season and is an innings eater. Plus Juice. I like SD.

Fade Astros like always

I took giants RL and the over. The cubs screwed me last night so I'm fading them the rest of the year

I 100-percent agree with this thread, even though MLs and RLs aren't my department. This is a TERRIFIC spot for the Cubs. Not only for the reasons mentioned above about the Giants getting in really late and being drained, but also surprisingly, it has a lot to do with Chris Volstad's potential effectiveness.

Put yourself in the mind of Chris Volstad: You recently saw a sports psychologist (Read all about this) to help deal with your losing streak. Since then, you've been pretty good, and finally, you just ended that career-high losing streak (Last win was 24 starts ago) that has clearly been messing with your mindset as these past few months have gone by, not to mention the pressures of having been pitching with a new team for the first time in your professional baseball career. Well... the losing streak is finally ended so how would that make you feel? Relieved and free to be yourself, of course. It's HUMAN NATURE. Thus, when Chris Volstad is able to be more like himself again, rather than pressing in every start while on the long losing streak, he can actually be dominant. He's not a bad pitcher at all, and exhibited flashes of dominance throughout his tenure in Florida. Thus, we can possess THAT version of Chris Volstad in today's game more likely than not, and against a tired and drained Giants' offense, they should have a tough time hitting what is sometimes a real tough sinkerball pitcher. Psychology can be everything, especially with mentally-oriented pitchers like Chris Volstad.

And also a tremendous spot for Chris Volstad, including going forward. Now he's got two consecutive wins after not having one in his previous 24 starts. Human psychology can be everything in starting pitching, especially for mentally-oriented guys like Volstad
