Anyone enter an NFL football pool? (pick one winner each week...can't pick the same team twice)

I'm in this pool for the year. Not really an "NFL guy"....but figured what the hell? Winner gets $500+ (more if they get a few more participants this week):

Participation rules:
· You can only use a team once during the life of the pool (example: If you choose the Ravens in Week 1 you cannot use them again for the rest of the season).
· If the game you picked should end in a tie that counts as a win.
· All picks must be submitted by 10AM Sunday morning. I’ll send out the picks by 1 PM Sunday afternoon so everyone can see before the games start.
o If you do not submit a pick by 10 AM Sunday, you’ll receive a loss for that week.
o If there’s a Thursday night or Saturday night game and you want to use a team playing in that game for your pick – you must submit before game time, otherwise you’ll need to pick a team from the games on Sunday/Monday.
· This will be triple elimination – three losses and you’re out.

I'll be hitting you guys up for some assistance!!

Triple elimination seems like a lot. Do people make it to the end? Feel like 1 person would with 3 shots at it. Usually with 1 elimination the winner comes around week 12 or so (this really depends how big the thing is though)

If you post in the nfl forum it gets lost with every dickhead making their "locks" picks/threads....
lol yes that is a funny way of putting it.

I dont think it needs to be in the nfl forum persay.. u asked for people's opinion and what not and its more team related than spread and it might be on some weeks and off others.. id say its a general water cooler talk type scenario and I think its fine in offshore for now ;)

to go with what another person said.. i am not used to seeing a triple elimination one.. its normally suicide or double elim.. but this one shall be fun and it also allows u to take some "risks" early with teams having tight games for a win whereas normally people ride out the big name teams first because u dont have more than 2 chances.. here i think going for upset/close calls/etc would be the smartest strategy out the gate.. then when u get a loss of a scrub team u go to the mentality of the best chance to win outright ml by a good team first...

Murph, agree the triple elimination is odd. This pool is around $500 for first place. I'm going to try to knock out some of the harder wins when it looks good...but I'll take a few sure wins occasionally.

Week1 I might go w a sure win.... Texans vs the fins should be easy....
