thought it was voted in.

Current Laws Stop it..

It can and will be voted in this Nov

But unless someone/somehow gets the current laws repealed
there will NOT be wagering allowed !PERIOD!!

The chance of this happening will be slim to none !

Delaware is currently only allowed ---Parlay card type wagering this is because in an injunction was set up by NFL and Government )to limit wagering !!

To many hurdles to get past in Jersey

sorry guys

Nothing but election year jabbering from a governor trying to get the state to vote Republican in the presidential election; good luck getting NJ to go red.

Actually that's not quite true. I've been following this case. NJ has already voted to legalize sports betting. They just haven't started it yet because the major leagues - NFL NBA MLB NHL NCAA have filed suit under a federal statue called The Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act—also known as “PASPA” - the federal law that prohibits the establishment of sports betting in any state that did not have such betting prior to passage of the Act in 1992.

The NJ case is going to challenge the constitutionality of this statute. The major leagues (NFL NBA MLB NHL NCAA) are charging their businesses will suffer "irreparable harm" if NJ allows sports betting. But most legal experts say there's no way to prove irreparable harm since Nevada and 3 other states already allow sports betting. NJ could very well win this case.

Litigation will likely take a year or more. Interesting case as there are high powered attorneys on both sides. The big money & special interests are all on the side of stopping it. Common sense and sound legal arguments are on the side of allowing it.

IMHO NJ will get legal sports betting. It will take some time but PASPA will be declared unconstitutional.
