Anyone take anti-crazy meds???

I'm considering asking my doc for some some anti-anxiety medication. The full time kind, not benzos. I have what I hope is an anxiety disorder. I say hope, because if it ain't anxiety I'm probably going to drop dead of a heart attack or stroke or something lol. Anyways, that's a different story.

Question is, do any of you take the likes of say Effexor, Prozac, Wellbutrin, or whatever? There's like a 1,000 different one's I think. If so, is it worth it? Does it help? And most importantly are ya able to throw down a few cold one's without going all Whitney Houston acting? Cause I like my suds and that ain't gonna stop. Anxiety be damned!

I lived with a bi polar nut bag for 8 years. I stayed by her side waiting for her to get better which of course she never did. When the end came I asked my Doc for some meds to help with the depression. worst move i ever made., those f'ing drugs made my depression 10 times worse and scared the shit out of me. maybe I should have tried a new one.. but dayum - I will NEVER try that shit again

Those pills help you feel better and it will seem like a great fix and then they grab you by the balls and you can't be without them with out trying to wack yourself (not wack off). The side effects are horrendous. Do some research before you try those fuckers.

Yeah, kinda sorta agree here as well. I've never taken them but have known people who have and they were complete nut jobs. I mean they were "alright" when they were medicated but you could definately tell when they weren't on them. It always seemed as if they worked themselves up just so they could take some more pills. It becomes a cycle. Now having said all that, I've even considered taking the shit because like you I also feel I'm going to work myself into a heart attack. I like to think I'm of better mind to not let the pills take me over like the nut jobs I've mentioned although I think the nut jobs were complete nut jobs to begin with any ol' way.

I've heard this works too. However, have to watch out in case you get into an accident at work or if you happen to be looking for employment. People can fool the piss test but not when they take a hair sample. I'll wait until it becomes legalized.

On a more serious note ask your doctor about Clonazepam. It helps with anxiety attacks. Trust me I know. I take 0.5 mg tablet, 1 per day. Somedays I will take 2 but this stuff is very habit forming and I try to get bye with just the one. Let me know how you make out. I guarantee you its not your heart. I thought the same thing.

Thanks for the repies. I'm gonna think on it awhile. I have some Xany's and Klonopins to get me thru till I decide. Oh, and sadly weed makes my panic worst most of the time.

I hate that. I used to love to unwind after a hard day's work by puffing on a fat one. Last time I did I kept peeking out the blinds saying "I think the cops are here!!". Old lady said "dude, that's a UPS van". I said "maybe they're undercover!"

Ouch....you know what it sounds like? Thyroid problems. Do you have health insurance? Can't you go and get this checked out. Thyroid is nothing to joke around with and it would explain your racing hear and paranoid thoughts.

I'd bet that's what it is.
