Athletes you like more because off the field stuff...

Whether it be charity, or how they interview, or even their twitter ect....

There are definitely a bunch of athletes I liked more after I saw how they were...

First one that comes to mind for me is Cam Newton
Adrian Peterson
Chad Johnson
Barkley

What do you like about Chad Johnson? His adultery or his head butting? I agree he's kind of funny, but he's certainly not a model person. Same thing with Newton. Pretty sketchy past in college.

I am not really judging because Tiger is my favorite golfer and he obviously has his own problems, but I guess my point is that I don't really care how people behave off the field. I have no kids so nobody that anyone is watching and looking up to. I really only care about these guys between the lines. I am sure a great majority of them are entitled assholes. Im in it simply for the entertainment value.

I never liked Barkley as a player. Now he is one of my favorite broadcasters to listen to. There is no filter between his brain and his mouth, whatever he thinks just comes out ....

Trevor Hoffman. He does occasional stuff for Fox San Diego and it's superb insight into the mind of a closer/pitcher.

Actually, this pretty much how I determine if I like any player. I don't have any favorite players, but I like Curtis Granderson and cheer for players that are involved the community.

I remember hearing Robert Griffin III give an interview in college well before the Heisman and thinking that he had his act together, that he was a well spoken very intelligent sounding person. I started pulling for him then even though I knew very little about Baylor at the time.

curtis granderson sets the bar pretty high when it comes to giving back. roger federer certainly appears to be one of the nicest people in sports as well. gives great interviews.

You ever meet Luis Gonzalez? I hear he's always doing good things for the community and he's the nicest guy you would ever want to meet.

I havent met him personally. But I hear the same things you do.

I taught at a school in north Scottsdale and a couple of the kids were his neighbors. They loved him.
