Pirates didn't get in til 6ish am this morning after delayed Cubs game. Brewers haven't played since Sunday.

Gallardo 7-0 2.89 ERA last 9 games
Burnett winless in 5 straight


Brewers have been hot winning 7 out of 10
Pirates just beat Cubs and still have lost 8 out of 10.



Brewers sitting around -115? Care to explain whats going on here?

I think it could possibly be because Gallardo got beat up for seven runs and 11 hits in 4 2/3 innings the last time they played the pirates. Luckily, the Brewers scored 12 of their own.

However, as you said everything else points to the Brewers killing it tonight.

I should also point out that Gallardo held the Pirates to 1 run in 7 innnings in July. I may be jumping on this one.

A local radio guy in my area said tonight take one game......Pittsburgh +120. Sorry I don't focus on baseball but he caught my attention and I thought I would see what the boards thought.....and they clearly think it is too good to be true.

So I say Pittsburgh.

Pay closer attention to the 2nd game of the series. The hang over effect is not as prevalent in the first game in baseball as it is in the 2nd. Pitt will be hyped for the division game with milwaukee.

Has been a downward spiral for the Pirates the last 30 games, hard to think they are in a spoiler mood at the moment.

My 2 cents: If you are going to take the Brewers play the run line.

Just going back to the beginning of August (in games the Brewers have won) they have won a game by 2 or more 22 times, by 1 run 4 times.

Spoiler? They're tied with the Brewers in the Wildcard race.
