Wondering what the best deals are out their. My
contract with Verizon is up & was wondering if
any-1 knew of any good cheap deals. Would like
to have internet access via smart phone or what
ever, but have heard it can be really expensive.
I would like some feed-back on what the best
phones are & also the service. Getting a lil age
now & have problems seeing good up close--so
the bigger the screen & fonts the better. I have
done a search for hours & the more I search &
read the more confused I get. (LOL)---TIA

If unlimited internet access is needed, T-Mobile is the way to go.

They are in the middle of upgrading their network.

The upgrade will be as good as Verizon I believe. I am not sure what areas currently have the new network.
Even the old network should be fine until they complete the upgrade.

I mean to mention. I don't think they have any reduction of speed after a certain data limit is reached
I would double check.

It is a flat fee. No overage amount.

How good is the network?

How good are the phones?

One person says this about Straight Talk.

i know people that have this and also cricket and they should be ashamed to even make a call to someone...Don't know why,but when i am trying to talk to these people it sounds like crap and cuts out often...I don't even have to ask what carrier they use because i can tell immediately...Like i said i don't know why as they claim to use the big boys same network...But just my experience...I am long time cell phone user back to the days where i carried a huge bag around like some type of faeg and sat in on a table in many a sports bar...I have had almost every carrier during the last 20 years and until i went with Verizon 10 years ago had nothing but problems with them...Verizon is the real deal and actually one of the only companies in america that can back up what they claim in their ads..

T-Mobile does have a throttle (reduction) in speed after 10 GB in a month.

Not sure if most people use that much.

Well I'm willing to try them next month ( when my current billing cycle ends). It's no contract, seems like the model of the phone determines which network you get. Where you are is probably a factor too. I want to be on Verizon

I switched from ATT to StraightTalk a few years ago and I don't have any complaints. I'm on the Verizon network. A couple of people I know tried StraightTalk and so far like it and have kept the service.

I currently use Page Plus Cellular. They use Verizon towers for cell reception and call quality. I had Verizon...and it's the same exact coverage except for a cheaper price. It is a prepaid plan like Straight Talk. Just about any phone Verizon phone can be used on Page plus network. Only drawback is no 4g...but 3g is fast enough for me (especially for the price).
I currently have the $39.99 a month plan and I get:
unlimited talk, unlimited text and 100mb of data (for web use and emails).
I buy my plans from Kitty Wireless here: http://www.kittywireless.com/cmd.php?af=1434082

That looks good too. I might get them instead of ST.

I love it myself. Saving me around $50 a month over Verizon. If Verizon works great in your area...it's a winner.

How much is 100mb of data ? I can't relate that to anything. I currently have Greatcall with unlimited calling ( 2 phones) for about $150 month for both. These are very basic phones, not even a camera in them. I never text, don't see any point in it. I'd have to use a toothpick to type on a keyboard that size....like I do with a GPS unit.

I've only been using a cellphone for less than a year. I probably don't even want the smartphone aspect of it. I still barely know how to use the most basic cellphone, feel like I'd need to take a class at a community college to learn how to use a smartphone.

I have a hard time entering a phone number without hitting two keys at once on these too small phones as it is, doubt I could ever use it as a computer phone.

100MB of Data ?? is crap. lol

Most data plans start at 2GB

So it's kind of out of date like your Phones sound.

But like you said, you are not a Cellphone guy.. so guess you don't need much if any.

Why does a basic phone need any data ?

just for emails maybe ?

I don't see myself realistically doing anything with a screen as small as those on a phone. I might perhaps use a camera a bit, does that need data ?

This place is giving me a bad vibe. They are a PHONE company and want you to email them with any questions and C/S is 11-8 ( 11-5 on Thurs and Sun). Then they'll get back to within 48 hours. Do they think they are Planetpinnacle or something ?

Straight talk at least answered the phone and seemed fine when I called them a week or so ago....and they have some free/ cheap phones.

I think Kitty is going out with litter for me !

They seem really Mickey Mouse, IMO !

onto Jake's company for me.
