Will have my business for a long time. And that is the God's truth. I have faith my local will do what is right, but what about these sponsors here? I imagine there would be quite a few who would follow suit and play with them. On the same token...if you left the wagers as they stand...forgettaboutit...never getting a dime from me.

Euro books do this all the time, partly because there are so many of them and they recognize the goodwill it creates.

Offshore's have zero integrity so it won't even cross their mind.

If I ran a book, it wouldn't cross my mind. Refs miss calls in every sport and it happens all the time. This was a terrible call, but the game is called by humans and humans make mistakes.

completely agree. it sets a bad precedent... next time something happens, everyone comes to them expecting to bailout out.

I can't recall the game, but precedent has already been set. I beleive it was a college football game. Somebody will know.

If they didn't refund wagers for that boxing fiasco this past summer when Manny got screwed, this won't do it either.

let's say that's true for a minute which I doubt very much. Mind you, I have no inside info on this and am speaking strictly as a sports bettor here.

Would you feel the same if the call went the other way? Furthermore, speaking of Euro books, what if there was a official that called a penalty kick in the 92nd minute that was controversial also? Are you saying that they will end up paying the players that had the other side to the official result? If so, what outrage would would you expect from the players that had the official winning bet?

any book that will change seattle bets to losses will probably lose a lot of customers

A bad call by a referee is not any justification for cancelling GB wagers.

pay seattle, give back gb bettors bet as a fp with rollover, good will and probably not cost you a ton in the long run.

also some euro books do refund horrible mistakes that change the outcome

They pay the winners. And refund the losers.

interesting Vin

I wonder how many players or money they had on the fight and if it was minimal that it was simply for publicity or not? Never heard of the book myself but that means squat I know. Personally I think it sets a dangerous precedent but interesting nevertheless.

It's a business decision to make you play there again, it's called marketing.

Bad precedents are slow pays and 'processor issues.'

good for marketing....bad precedent imo

people will bitch and you will end up having to refund or be ready to lose a lot of client next time...esp if this is the reason they chose you as a book

Scott: They're massive, a very big book, but to your point, I accept the liquidity would have been low, maybe $50K at most.

The reson they do it is simple, competition. Gambling is legal there and after a person has exhausted all the freeplays and bonusses a book has to keep their players, there's literally hundreds of legal, safe outs. Did you see the link above on the book who refunded Adam Scott bets? That's a classy gesture.

Why would people 'bitch' if winners are paid and losers refunded?
