Smart move by Olazabal throwing out his guns early. He probably needs 2.5 points at least out of those 3 matches and Donald, Poulter and McIlroy are all favored (Donald more of a coin-flip).

All downhill after that for Europe though. The only other match they are going to be favored in is the Garcia/Furyk match.

Europe is +790 right now to win the Cup

US is -1240

This one is over, boys. Pretty disappointing it isn't closer going into Sunday

Ain't over until it's over....remember what happened in Mass. when the Americans rallied from a 10-6 deficit to win the Ryder Cup...smart move by the Europeans to load the front end of the singles...

I hear you Viejo and I hope you're right. I would love those matches late in the day to matter. The atmosphere would be awesome.

Meaningless match. I'm surprised the NBC execs didn't force DL3 to play him in an early group.

Like I posted yesterday, Love made a bad decision not to pair up Keegan and Phil for afternoon while they were hot.. Mo switched over to Europe after that...To much old blood on team too with Stricker and Furyk.. Tiger sucked too..

Yup

None of those three can handle the pressure. Awful

10-6? And lose? Gotta love sport.

Rose really put a knife in the US Heart with those putts on the last three holes. Still can't believe what I just witnessed.

sounds silly to want to bench those 3, but the u.s. needs all youth .. win or lose , they'd be fun to watch..

Congrats to Europe, they outplayed the US on the day that mattered most. A lot of people want to say US choked, but I think that takes away from what Europe did on Sunday. All 24 players are extremely talented and can beat each other, its not like the US lost to a bunch of club champions.

Fingers can be pointed in many directions (Fuyrk, Stricker, Love) but flat out Europe got it done on Sunday. Poulter is a freak, Kaymer redeems his fellow German's, langer, miss at Kiewa,

The part that is hard to believe is the variety of variables that fell Europe's way in the last few hours of Sunday. The parts I cant get out of my head...
- Friday/Saturday, the US was decisively finishing off matches with holes to play while Europe was pulling out full points on the 18th hole
- Saturday at one point the US was looking to go up 10-4, Furyk and Sned blow a 2 up lead and not only lose the point but fail to secure a halve
- Garcia under a tree on 11 gets a drop, still unsure why he was allowed a drop and makes an impossible chip to halve the hole
- Furyk lips out on 16 which would of put him 2 up with 2 to play and secured at least a point and probably the full point for the US. Turned out to be a 2 point swing

Tough loss for the US but one hell of a Ryder Cup weekend! Scotland here I come
