Postseason chase with a 100 year history

In 2010, the Rangers and Rays completed a post season series in which the home team lost every game. According to USA Today's longtime baseball writer Paul White, it was baseball's "first postseason series without a win by a home team." And they've been playing postseason baseball for over 100 years.

That's the idea behind this chase. In each of the upcoming 7 postseason series, we will be chasing the home team to win one unit. It won't matter who the home team is or where the game is being played. We will chase the series until the home team wins. Once that happens, the chase is over and we pocket our 1 unit profit.

Briefly here's how it will work. Let's say in game one, the home team is -150 to win 100 on the moneyline. if the home team wins, great! We're up 100 and for our purposes the series is over. if the home team loses, we go on to game 2. Now we need to wager enough to win our 100 + the 150 we lost in game 1. We keep that up until we have a home team win.

Last year, this system was particularly successful, in that I don't believe any series went beyond 2 games. Nonetheless, there are drawbacks. You may have to lay a considerable amount of money if a series goes long. We may in some cases be backing heavy favorites, particularly in the early series. A way around this is to reduce your unit size. A $100 bettor may wish to cut it down to $50 or less.

By the way, the Tampa - TX series in 2010 was best of 5, meaning that in more than a century of play, there has NEVER been a 7 game series in which the home team has not won at least 1 game.

We all know about the changes in the early playoff rounds this year. If those make you uncomfortable, just skip them and wager only on the 7 game series.

There are no locks! This is not a sure thing! But with 100 years of history, I like my odds here. Good luck!

You can do the same thing with betting the under and with lower odds. If my memory serves me right, every series in the last few years and probably forever has a game that goes under. You just keep doubling up till you lose and you won't lose. Some of the series will win on the first game. The only drawback is that you need discipline not to play the rest of the series once you win and that's really hard for degenerates. lol

GL to you!

the under chase is a better option. I feel the more games you watch the better 'feel' you'll have how a team is performing and might have better 'chase' options in the second round. great info. and I wish you both the best during the play-offs.

Luck.

Both home teams won Monday, meaning 3 of 4 series have been successfully concluded. Back later with info on Reds.

god only knows how much it will take on game 4 to make this work. I really don't feel like laying 2000 or 2500, so i will probably settle for wagering enough to recoup a good portion of losses, but not all. reds are -143.
