You're traveling for an entire year, 3 months a stop, therefore 4 stops.

Where Would you go, and When Reasons?
4 Locations.
(Mainland United States Only!)

Factors to consider:
1. Weather: You have 1 year to go 4 places. Keep seasons in mind.
2. Travel: Will be driving .. therefore going from California to East Coast in 1 stop wouldn't be possible.

Things that don't matter:
1. Cost of Living

I guess the starting point doesn't matter either, then ?

We have to sort of make it a logical progression and not criss-cross the country, right ?

I might start in the summer in N. Calif around the SF area

then

move onto Central/ Western Colorado for the fall

then

winter in Southern Florida ( The keys ?)

and

move onto SC ( Hilton Head) for the spring

January - March = Vegas...I would be there for the SuperBowl and March Madness. Plus, fairly nice weather there during that time.

April - June = Syracuse, NY...Its home. Could spend the summer golfing with my friends and spending time with family. Haven't been back home since last Christmas. It would be good to see everyone for a couple months

July - September = South Carolina...probably Hilton Head/Myrtle Beach area. Weather would be nice. I could play golf during the day, spend time on the beach, party at night.

October - December = Dallas, TX...never been there. Would be there for football season, both pro and college. I hear its a cool place and have always wanted to go. Would rather be south than north in December. Hate the snow

April-June -- Like to do Vegas but maybe too far....

July-September Chicago

October - December California (probably SF area given pay, but I would prefer San Diego)'

travel wise just doesn't work out... IDK.

I don't get the red part. SD is cheaper than SF. SD has very pleasant weather year-round. SF is nicer ( still cool) in summer instead of late year, IMO.

it will be with my wifes job, her pay would be better in SF and Cost of Living wouldn't effect us because they provide housing

1st Quarter Jan- March -- Phoenix --- Warm Weather, Spring Training and could drive to Laughlin/Vegas within 4-6 hours for the weekends and enjoy the BCS Title, Super Bowl and March Madness.

April - June -- I'd spend some time in Louisville for the KY Derby, travel to Maryland for the Preakness and on to Elmont NY for the Belmont Stakes and then head back to Louisville to spend more time at Churchill. Hopefully get lucky to get tickets to opening day at Cincinnati and watch the Reds.

July - September -- Southern California to take in racing from Del Mar, nothing beats where the Surf meets the Turf. Baseball in Dodger Stadium, San Francisco, Oakland and San Diego not to mention the Big A. Get lucky and see a Raiders game, a Forty Niners game and maybe get to see the Lakers as well but at worst the Clippers.

October - December -- Vegas, nothing beats the World Series, NFL Playoffs and Bowl Games not to mention the holidays and the New Years Festivities. Did I mention the WSOP final table as well :) Plus the weather is still pretty good into the first part of November so there will be enough T&A to watch free up and down the strip.

More of a sports fantasy than anything else but eh it's my fantasy year.

I think you need to pick some locations that allow you a driving window to see major sports venues along the way, hence why I chose my locations.

I think that is too many miles for Defying's rules as you go from NV cross country to NY, then back to the West in NM.

I think he wants it in say the fashion you might structure this fantasty trip maybe driving an RV or something, so it can't crisscross the country too much.... you have say a mileage limit and have to align the 4 cities so the mileage is the least or at least reasonable.

Tahoe for sure, Colorado, Ft. Worth (Dallas is for yuppies), Key West or maybe Boston although 3 months of Boston accents would be annoying as hell
