Good morning everyone. Today we have 2 games in bases this afternoon and evening. The first game I will take a look at the San Francisco Giants who are in a desperate need of a victory at the Cincinati Reds. I will post a pick and write-up for the evening game later this afternoon.

San Francisco @ Cincinati

5:37 PM ET, October 9, 2012
Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati, Ohio

Starting Pitchers
San Francisco: Vogelsong (0-0, 0.00 ERA)
Cincinnati: Bailey (0-0, 0.00 ERA)

The San Francisco Giants look to avoid being swept as they visit the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ballpark in Cincinati, Ohio in game three of their NLDS on Tuesday. The Giants will send Ryan Andrew Vogelsong to the hill this afternoon and he has been on a pretty darn good roll as of late, saving his best stuff for last, with a record of 2-0, 0.53 ERA and a 0.882 WHIP in his last three starts while allowing just one earned run and 15 base runners over 17 innings.. Overall, Ryan Vogelsong is 14-9 with a 3.37 ERA and 1.229 WHIP in 31 starts this season. In you are a trend junkie here are a few to take into consideration as you make your decision for a play in this game. The Giants are 7-0 in road games revenging a loss versus a opponent as a home favorite this season. San Francisco is also 8-1 in road games after scoring 1 run or less this season and are 4-0 in their last 4 playoff games as an underdog of +110 to +150.

The Cincinati Reds will send Homer Bailey to the mound this afternoon. Mr. Bailey is 13-10 with a 3.68 ERA and 1.240 WHIP in 33 starts this season. He has been outstanding on the road this season, but his home numbers have been nothing to write home about. Homer Bailey is 4-8 with a 5.16 ERA and 1.500 WHIP in 17 home starts this season while allowing 21 home runs. In his career versus the San Francisco Giants he has awfull numbers which include a 5.59 ERA and a 1.517 WHIP in five career starts. The Cincinati Reds are also 1-5 in his last 6 home starts.

The Giants are obviously a very good, but also a desperate team at this point in time. The linesmakers have allowed us a fantastic opportunity to cash on a dog today with real value. In the first 2 games of the series the Giants have struggled to score runs at home and they quite possibly it may be a blessing for them to get on a plane and take their swings to a hitters ballpark.

Pick: San Francisco ML, +131

Yes I would also lean to the OVER. With the line dropping, currently below 8 with juice attached, I like it even more. BOL to you.

Thoughts on 2nd game.I orignally liked oakland because det.cant hit lefties to well, but im switching to det. because the line is fishy and im playing a gut feeling that 1 of these 2 games is a sweep.Im hoping its this one.Leaning under 2nd game because both pitchers pitch better at nite.Waiting for line movement first.

The line move, dropping down to 7.5 from the opening number of 8, is bad news for under backers. Good luck on the over if you play it.

You are a funny person, just so you know. I am playing the game for .25 units, which for me is $250. Its NOT a big play for me which is why I didn't post it as such. BOL vark. Which side are you on?

FYI: If you are playing the under in SF/CIN game I would be real carefull if the line reaches 7 and would think about buying off of it if it reaches that point, imo.

The line is currently holding steady which is a good sign, with 60% on the Reds ML and 85% on the Reds spread of -1.5

I may be totally off base here but I can't resist taking a shot here with the Giants to win the current series with the Reds and the NL pennant.....

10/9/2012 5:35 PM MLB Baseball 1896 San Francisco Giants (Series)* +950 vs Cincinnati Reds (Series)
Fixed Price
Risking $100.00 To Win $950.00

MLB Baseball National League : San Francisco Giants +1900
Risking $100.00 To Win $1,900.00

If the Giants can get game #3 the focus and pressure will shift to the Reds in game #4 with Zito on the bump, who has pitched well recently, versus a Reds starter who is TBA. If this series reaches a game #5 with Cain on the mound and probably no Cueto this series is over and the Giants will advance. Based on the first 2 games and the outcome of both the back of the Giants pen is well rested and ready to pounce when and if they can enter with a lead late in the game. At 19-1 odds I believe this wager will be heavily weighed on what happens tonight. If they do advance further in the post season I love my odds versus either the Cards or the Nats in a toss-up 7 game series. My wager above is valued at .10 units so if you tail wager at your discretion.
