Good morning everyone. Today we have 2 games in bases this afternoon and evening. The first game I will take a look at the San Francisco Giants who are in a desperate need of a victory at the Cincinati Reds. I will post a pick and write-up for the evening game later this afternoon.
San Francisco @ Cincinati
5:37 PM ET, October 9, 2012
Great American Ball Park, Cincinnati, Ohio
Starting Pitchers
San Francisco: Vogelsong (0-0, 0.00 ERA)
Cincinnati: Bailey (0-0, 0.00 ERA)
The San Francisco Giants look to avoid being swept as they visit the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ballpark in Cincinati, Ohio in game three of their NLDS on Tuesday. The Giants will send Ryan Andrew Vogelsong to the hill this afternoon and he has been on a pretty darn good roll as of late, saving his best stuff for last, with a record of 2-0, 0.53 ERA and a 0.882 WHIP in his last three starts while allowing just one earned run and 15 base runners over 17 innings.. Overall, Ryan Vogelsong is 14-9 with a 3.37 ERA and 1.229 WHIP in 31 starts this season. In you are a trend junkie here are a few to take into consideration as you make your decision for a play in this game. The Giants are 7-0 in road games revenging a loss versus a opponent as a home favorite this season. San Francisco is also 8-1 in road games after scoring 1 run or less this season and are 4-0 in their last 4 playoff games as an underdog of +110 to +150.
The Cincinati Reds will send Homer Bailey to the mound this afternoon. Mr. Bailey is 13-10 with a 3.68 ERA and 1.240 WHIP in 33 starts this season. He has been outstanding on the road this season, but his home numbers have been nothing to write home about. Homer Bailey is 4-8 with a 5.16 ERA and 1.500 WHIP in 17 home starts this season while allowing 21 home runs. In his career versus the San Francisco Giants he has awfull numbers which include a 5.59 ERA and a 1.517 WHIP in five career starts. The Cincinati Reds are also 1-5 in his last 6 home starts.
The Giants are obviously a very good, but also a desperate team at this point in time. The linesmakers have allowed us a fantastic opportunity to cash on a dog today with real value. In the first 2 games of the series the Giants have struggled to score runs at home and they quite possibly it may be a blessing for them to get on a plane and take their swings to a hitters ballpark.
Pick: San Francisco ML, +131
