nice job by the highest paid player....and he's signed for 5 more years. He really should be benched and left of the roster for the next round.

To give him the benefit of the doubt,maybe he's not recovered from the broken hand fully enough....so see ya next spring.

I'm amazed Girardi had the balls to PH for him. If you're going to do that, he should be benched and only come in if Chavez gets injured.

Agree, but they won't sit the $25 Million man.... all they really could do is play him, then sit him after some at Bats.... if he fails to produce, it makes it easy to PH him.

You at least have to drop him to 7th or lower and explain it away by saying he's not healed fully yet.

How the Hell did they re-sign him after opting out, when they got his best years already ?

Like the guy is going to be good in his 40's !

I find that hard to believe.

A-Roid must be pissed as Hell getting pinch hit for in a playoff game, since he is the active HR leader.

It's hard to even see him want to be a Yankee anymore....maybe he'll opt out again ?

I was happy to see Raul pinch hit for him, and that was before he it the HR

ARod is just a K machine in those situations, doesn't get it done

can always hope, but nobody is giving him anything near what the Yankees were sucked in for

I'd think A-Rod would be lucky to get 8M a year for 3 years. he fields well enough and is a decent baserunner, but he has turned into too much of a singles hitter to consider him to be much more than the theoretical replacement player from the WAR stats, or an average everyday 3rd baseman. He had a recent 60+ at bat streak without an extra base hit. I can't blame him for signing, though !
