Haven't been back in these threads for a while, and I can't remember my record(but it was about +60 units and I'll look it up). Like the Nats tonight in a very thrilling final games to their series with the Cards. St. Louis has been through this last year, and won't be nervous considering the stage. But Washington's win last night showed me that they also can win the must win games. The Nats will get a home field boost and continue their storybook season. I'm just feeling it. I also think it's unlikely that St. Louis can make a second run- breaks even out over time.
They also have a large bullpen advantage, which in these type games(win or go home), often come into play. Gio has had pretty good success vs. the Cards, and like his ability to always be in the game. He has had a number of outstanding games vs. top lineups like the Cards. Wainwright looked good last game vs. Wash, but overall, he is not quite the pitcher he used to be. His outings are shorter and has a little less velocity. Wainwright really dominated Houston and more of the lesser teams this year. Besides Zimmerman is hitting bullets every time up.
