Do you think that may be the last time we see him play baseball? He looked really hurt. Achilles?

Girardi just said fractured ankle. Done for the season, and 3 month recovery. Not career threatening at least. Sad, sad day for my Yanks.

He'll try to push it till he's 40 or maybe 50 like RogerClemens. Maybe A-roid or Clemens can point him to a witch doctor for a quick fix...... Honestly I'd be surprised if Jeter tried to prolong the obvious.....

A-Rod ain't moving to SS, he's been out of that position far too long to change back and is adequate defensively at 3B. Some combination of Nunez/Nix will play SS. I could see starting Nunez and replacing him late with Nix for defense since Nunez is so iffy on defense. I think Nix gets the nod from Joe.

Jeter sure isn't going to quit after a great season where he led MLB in hits....maybe if he had 3 bad seasons in a row, but not now. His replacement will be a downgrade.

Guys like Granderson suck against good pitching, so he isn't a valuable post-season player, A Jeter can adjust.

I'd call Cano's poor performance just a bad stretch in a small sample, as he was Bonds like a few weeks ago.

A championship worthy team can replace a jeter type player.

They looked so old last night in extra innings. Just looked slow and old, all of them.

The team is built on overpaid veterans, nothing new with that angle, you might win a WS every 10 years so with that approach.

Do the NYY ( from an ownership view) even need to win ?

from the owners pov, they are making just as much win or not. by spending less and avoiding the luxury tax they just add to the bottom line even more.

What evidence exists of him ever juicing ?

I'll agree it is possible, but I've never seen anything pointing to it being true.
