i wont deny a stat so the .160 avg posted also is gross.
but imo swisher has been clutch in certain situations the last 2 years maybe not in the playoffs but he has the chance to make plays sometimes...
I also think Arod couldnt be replaced in a line up but to get rid of both of them in one night when u are down 0-2 is like giving up imo
that is the only point I was making.. like if u want to take 1 out of lineup punish arod a bit but swisher didnt do anything unsportsmanlike or anything himself so its purely a benching move.. but I also would be shocked if swisher doesn't pinch at a later point.. but do u expect a chance when its "not vs verlander?"
verlander will go the distance if allowed.. he will be ready for game 1 world series no matter what.

I agree with your assesment of swisher being a clutch hitter and a guy you can depend on to make plays , but i also agree with girardi trying somebody else since verlander has owned him.
I'm really surprised they're benching A Rod b/c he actually has decent numbers against verlander , but i guess girardi or smebody felt what he did was too unprofessional.
If i was a Yankee fan i'd be pissed b/c it does look like their throwing in the towell.
A-Rod will be next year, not so sure about Girardi. Even with CC Sabathia going tonight the Yanks are barely a favorite and surely would be a dog in a game 5.
I don't know what number I'd need to get to take them to win this series. I'm thinking if all games were 50/50 coin flips then +1500 is right, but I don't think I could take that even though NYY are favored in game 4 and would be in Game 7 and probably in game 6, too .
+1500 for the series seems low on a team that looks defeated and dysfunctional. Make it 30-1 and that has to be value since you could hedge it. Yanks might not muster up more than 2 runs, tough for CC to win when the team has so little direction.
Good pitching always kills teams that depend on homeruns off of gascans to make the playoffs.

Slumping slugger Alex Rodriguez zeroed in on fan Kyna Treacy, a leggy 33-year-old, in the ninth inning of his team’s crucial playoff game against the Detroit Tigers, openly flirting with her and getting her phone number even as he was yanked from the lineup and the Bombers struggled to stay alive.
Treacy — a sexy catwalker who started her own swimwear line, Kini Bikini, which specializes in tiny crocheted suits — was sitting two rows behind the dugout with pretty pal Kate Quinn, friends of the women told The Post. Both Aussies currently live in the city, one pal said.

Treacy is a former Bondi Beach girl who says in an online business profile that she has strived to create swimwear “for the girl who desires something sexy and individual.” She paid for her degree in graphic design by modeling, she said.
In 2010, the green-eyed brunette was linked to hunky Australian TV personality James Tobin.
About eight years ago, Treacy was co-crowned “Yellowglen Bubbly Girl,’’ a spokesmodel gig for the champagne.
Her prize included a year’s supply of the bubbly.
Neither she nor Quinn could be reached yesterday.
A-Rod, who was benched for last night’s 2-1 loss, which put the Yanks down 3-0, had no comment.
But Ted Leuzarder, a fan who witnessed the muscular meathead’s antics, said he “wasn’t amused.’’
“I originally thought it was the ballboy who was trying to get the numbers, since the girls did look a little young — even for A-Rod,’’ he said.
