Well, I usually check the weather as one of the first steps, but for some reason I neglected to do that this afternoon.

Weather of thunderstorms should DEFINITELY play a role in this game. Winds are high, too, but I don't about the dynamics of the stadium. Winds are at about 15mph and thunderstorms are expected to be hitting strongly around 4:30 p.m. and getting worse after that.

It matters and may put me off of the game.

By the way, thanks mgh56 for even bringing up the weather! That's the good stuff we need to see on here.

Just overcast right now and a little windy. Forecast is calling for 60% chance rain so it appears we are going to get hit. Just a matter of when.

Chong, if the game goes, I wonder if weather delays favor more scoring or less...? ANYONE have any thoughts on delays affecting number of runs?

Also, I saw a couple of other posters in another thread bring up the weather, so I'm glad you guys are sharing this type of info.

Might make the first 5 innings go a little more quickly to try and get it in. Maybe make the strike zone a little bigger.

IF there's a delay it usually helps hitters. Pitchers get stiff after long break in the dugout or dressing room, often times a delay will end a pitchers day depending when it occurs... don't have any facts to back this up though

Well I'd say the rain favors less runs just because both bullpens have been solid. And if Lohse and Cain are lited today we're gonna see a lot of the bullpen. However, runs don't seem to be an issue in this series so far. I'm staying away for that exact reason. Just playing my Homer play on my Birds. Bol with what you decide.

That was supposed to say "if Lohse and Cain are LIMITED". Damn typing on a phone...

HUGE storm right over Columbia which is about 90 minutes West of St Louis. Heavy rain is headed this way.

I'm worried about the total BECAUSE of the weather implications. That is why I'm just playing SF on the ML. I like both pitchers, but maybe Cain a bit more, thus my play.

That is a very insightful thought. Making the strike zone bigger means less runs.

mgh56, yes.... BUT, thinking on this might bring some ideas that give an edge to the total pick if I make one....

I may stay away from this game. LOTS of folks are on SF playing away in a tightly matched game...

This one with weather compounding it is a true enigma for me.
