I guess this is to introduce low level collectors and the general public as to what a slabbed coin looks like, but they ( PCGS)lack imiganitation here, they are spending a few dollars sending this slabbed coin to you , use some older yet cheap coin like a buffalo nickel with a date or something instead of quarters from the bank, Cheese and Rice !
they are just a common modern uncirculated quarter that you could get by the roll at a bank. People send actual rare coins usually worth at least $200 to be certified, graded and "slabbed" , this is an example of their product only. I don't really understand why they need to do this , since they are the #1 service already.
It would be like a company that does basically the same thing with sportscards offering a free sample with a basically worthless baseball card in their "slab".
