NCAA baskeball overs / unders lines - why are sportsbooks so slow to post?

Anyone know why the main sportsbooks only have 7-10 NCAA basketball lines posted for Friday and it's after 1pm EST?

Is it because it's the opening day of the season?

Never understood why they are so slow with totals. I don't know the reasoning.

there is so much volatility in these lines the books are definitely protecting themselves so they can get more adjusted to these teams

all season long they are slower than other sports on it but some books at least post the entire board after a week or two

In the past years they release typically around 10 to 11 am central, and they leak a few at a time..My guess in 2 weeks if not sooner we will see all the games posted.

Most books are only going to post totals on televised games. Its a trend thats been getting worse every year.

thats the problem.

I have no fucking idea either....but as bookies knows their are a tiny number of people who do know and they have been shredding these lines to the point they almost no longer exist

aside from the stats/math stuff some guys do, their are some who read the Eastern Slippery Rock U's websites each day and find out the power forward averaging 16.1 points per game hurt his knee in practice yeasterday and wont play and the starting point guard isn't playing because he punched his girlfriend in the mouth last night and is suspended.

while 99.9% of us couldnt possibly care less about this, the guy who is ramming it in on Eastern Slippery Rock U under 135.5 does care

Too many teams, too hard to make good lines. Math/computer guys can get the books on these. If you're on the other side of the counter, I don't think you'd have a great feeling on someone dropping a couple stacks on the over in Idaho st vs Montana st.

Some services are known to crush totals. RAS comes to mind, but good luck getting down on the same numbers they do.
