Only if they weren't on probation. You know that the most hated man in Columbus right now is Jim Tressel.

Really sick to see that Notre Shame and their weak ass schedule will be #1. The most non deserving #1 I can think of. I can't even think which game Notre Dame won this year would be considered their signature win. I will be rooting like hell for USC to beat these clowns.

USC better play this game like it's their national championship and I want Barkly to have a career day against this fraud team in Notre Shame.

Barkley is more than likely out.

I forgot about that when I went on my rant. How much easier can it be for this fraud ass team.

Navy -- Super Weak Team
Purdue -- Weak Team and only won by 3 at home.
Michigan St -- Not your typical MSU team, new QB ranking of #10 at the time was a joke. This is why polls shouldn't come out until the BCS does.
Michigan -- #18 at the time, yet again not your usual Michigan team. Another home game win by 7.
Miami FL -- Can't remember when they were relevant since the Coker years and the title game vs Ohio St.
Stanford -- #17 at the time, likely will be looked upon as the signature win since Stanford beat Oregon. Won in OT at home.
BYU -- Won by 3 at home. Not your high octane BYU team.
Oklahoma -- OK was #8 and this may overshadow the Stanford win due to it was a road game and they were 10+ point underdogs.
Pittsburgh -- A game they should've lost. Pitt K missed chippy FG in OT. Took 3 OT's to beat a bad Pitt team.
Boston College -- A sorry sad BC team they won by only 15.
Wake Forest -- 24 pt favorite at home won today 38-0
USC next week, now likely without Barkely. FML!!!!

7 home games, 1 overseas to start the season. Only legit road games vs years.... @ Michigan State and Boston College.

USC will truly be their 3rd road game of the year.

I just can't fathom those guys at ESPN saying how Notre Dame week in and week out have played the hardest schedule. What dope has Lou Holtz put in their coffee.

I pray somehow, someway, USC wins and keeps them out of the title game.

All this malarkey because kids traded THEIR memorabilia for tattoos. Not saying Ohio State is the best football team but they would be the best undefeated team remaining.

Deal with it...ND is a true #1 and the most deserving #1 in the country. Winning against 4 top 25 teams this far... The toughest schedule in the nation. GO IRISH!

ND has played the hardest schedule this year. After next week it is very likely they will have 9 wins against bowl eligible teams. As a comparison, after next week it is most likely that Ohio State, Alabama, and LSU will have beaten 5 bowl eligible teams. Georgia will have beaten 2 bowl eligible teams.

Notre Dame is this years Boise St....

Alabama would be double digit favorites if they meet in the title game...

Stanford's schedule is tougher especially if they have to face UCLA in back to back weeks. Too bad they did not have a competent replay official in the booth at the end of the ND/Stanford game. Unless you can send me a link to some video that shows his knee hitting the ground before the ball crossed the goal line Stanford was robbed.

Agree with Viejo, Bama would be at least 13 point favs Vs ND. ND's team total would be 10. I could not see ND moving the ball vs Bama.

Thank god OSU is not eligible. Their schedule is an absolute joke. 1 win vs. a top 25 team? OSU vs. ND would be an absolute joke of a NC and a playoff would have been instituted next year because of rioting in the SEC. Hate how college fans say that college is better because every game matters. Yes in theory but it also makes teams scared to schedule legit opponents like OSU. If there was an eight team playoff in college and BCS conf champs got an auto bid you would see much better OOC games because top teams would not be scared to lose OOC games if they had no effect on their conference.

Yeah...if only ND would have ran the same impressive gauntlet Ohio St did.

Remind me who OSU has beaten this season?

Michigan will knock off OSU on Saturday anyway...

OSU plays teams OOC. what are you talking about?

Cal, UAB, UCC and Miami(OH) not exactly a tough OOC schedule for a perennial top 10 team. My point is that if the B10 champ were to get an auto bid into a NCAA playoff you would see better OOC match ups because the top teams would not be afraid to lose 1 game knowing they could still win their conference and win a national title.

Fair enough. However, nobody generally plays more than 1 tough OOC game. Cal game was scheduled back in 2005/2006. Cal was a top 10 then. That is the problem with these OOC matchups, teams may not be as good or way better than when scheduled.

It was only a matter of time before the Notre Dame homers came a calling in this topic. Notre Dame is a sham of a #1 team. Do you think Alabama would have to play 3 OT's at home to beat Pitt? Do you think they would need Pitt to miss a chip shot FG to get another shot in another OT?

Do you think Oregon would beat Boston College by 15?

Do you think LSU would beat BYU by 3 at home?

Notre Sham isn't nothing like Boise St, they get the homer help every year and a biased love affair with a program that hasn't been relevant since? I can't wait till they get blown out by Alabama that is if they beat USC first.

Alabama is probably the best team in the country, especially after they nearly covered against Western Carolina this past Saturday. However, to say Notre Dame had a week schedule, especially compared to Ohio State, shows a complete lack of reason.
