Alabama, GA, Florida all get the 1-loss edges over Oregon, KState, Florida St., Clemson

LSU is a 2-loss above stanford....and aside from Stanford, TAMU and South carolina get the nod over OK, Neb, Oregon St., Tex, UCLA, Boise etc.

this is crazy....i'm not saying the SEC isn't the best conf (which is arguable)....but this is kind of silly. Orgon lost a game in OT toa great stanford team. People are underestimating Florida St. as well. Pac-12 should be getting more respect here.

sorry, had to vent

Its pretty disgusting, but it is what it is. Florida struggles vs. ULaLa and FCS Jacksonville St in BTB weeks and moves up in the rankings, UGA loses by 4 TD's to a very average USCe team and nearly loses to Tennessee & Kentucky (two of the worst football teams in the country that will be battling for their first conference win this weekend) yet their right there at the top. I also think K St only dropping a few spots after getting drilled like a $10 hooker by a 4-5 Baylor team sporting the 122 ranked D is laughable.

How about this concept?
if you think they don't deserve the rankings how about beating them in the national championship game every once in a while

Funny thing, 4 teams have won for the SEC. Bama 2x, UF 2x, Auburn and LSU.
Give them their due, but that doesn't make USCe and TAMU and others better than everyone.

Also, look at the way things played out in the games. McCoy was hurt for Texas, Florida faced OU without DeMarco Murray. Auburn, was fortunate that (forgot running back now), rolled over defender and got 20 extra yards. LSU played at home vs Bama and Ohio State. Let's not act like every game was UF vs Ohio State.

Bottom line is, yes the SEC is better top to bottom, but the way ESPn would have you believe it. Kentucky is better than Oregon because they are in SEC.

Yea if your outside of the SEC and you lose, your a fraud by some on this forum.. But I really don't see these SEC teams this year as any better then the other 1 loss teams in the country.. These SEC teams have been struggling all year and all have shown that they are vulnerable..

We'll find out a little more information this weekend, and bowl season is right around the corner. If you have 2 losses, it doesn't matter where you are ranked.

FSU isn't ranked higher because their schedule is a joke, and they have a hideous loss to NC State.

This was the year for the SEC to stay out of the MNC, but two teams shit the bed, and let them right back in there. I think Oregon was the biggest threat to Bama just because their offense is so different. Just wait, if ND loses this weekend (I don't think they will), but if they do, and UF beats FSU, it is going to be damn near impossible for any team to jump them in the BCS ranking because all of the computers love them.

LOL....disgusting? And you mention how bad Tennessee is, which they are.....but it is too funny the only team they beat this year was a DD win against a shitty NCST team, which the ACC poster child FSU lost to? Maybe that was a bad analogy....but I am sure you understand where I am going.

There is no way in hell that Oregon would have jumped Bama, and after last year, the NCAA/BCS will not allow another inner conference championship to happen (which it shouldnt matter - 2 best teams play it out). The problem with Oregon has (which has nothing to do with the program) is how bad the rest of the conference is overall. You are correct about KSU, they were exposed by a shit team this weekend.....finished.

Here why the BCS sucks in my opinion.....If UF wins this weekend, they will probably jump UGA in the polls. It is going to be hard for the powers to be keep them out of the BCS championship game, but they have no other option. As a UGA fan, this sucks becuase they then would be rewarded to trip to the NC because they lost! Given all this is hypothetical if ND loses, UF wins, Bama beats UGA......but you get my drift. None of this stuff stacks up logically, but this very well could be the scenario this year. Which would lead to major turmoil within the system.

its a fucking joke.. No one says a word on TV to argue the other side.. SEC is so fucking overrated this yr.
Sun Belt giving them a run for the money heads up match ups this yr
so oregon loses in OT to STanford and Bama loses to A&M, not sure why Bama gets the benefit of doubt n is given #2.

LSU #6.
Name one team ranked below LSU that you think is better then LSU

It's all about reputation and preseason ratings. When LSU starts top 3, even with two losses, they are top ten. UCLA also with two losses would be lucky to pass them even if they handle Stanford then Oregon. SI had an interesting piece on how these late season cupcakes are a huge system advantage for the SEC. They get into the tougher games sooner, so if/when they lose they have a better cHance of recovering while teams like Oregon and KState are getting knocked out against conference foes. In short, oregon's mistake was scheduling tenn tech too early in the season.

Not sure why your pointing a finger at the Pac 12 and that they suck ? Pac 12 has 4 teams in the top 16 ? Do the other conferences have this kind of representation ? SEC yes but no other conference can.. I'm sure you can say Colorado or Wash st, but I can come back and give you Auburn and Kentucky ! probably throw in the Miss schools, Arkansas , MO, and Tenn while we are at it too... And the top half, come on man.. None of those teams are exactly scary to anyone.. They have all struggled..Oregon, Stanford, OSU, and UCLA would all win there fair share of games against those teams this year...
