I agree with this but would also be fine if only children receive gifts on Christmas. The holiday/family aspect of Christmas is enjoyable but I despise the consumerism that has taken over.

I love the Holidays, but every year it gets more & more ridiculous with stores trying to beat each other to the punch by getting Christmas items out earlier & earlier.

And usually radio stations wait until Thanksgiving day or the day after to begin playing Christmas music, but this year i started hearing it 2-3 weeks ago...

Me and the old lady decided around 10 years ago to bag the whole gift thing. We donate to worthy causes instead. Has made Christmas much more enjoyable.

It's alright... I like to set up the Tree and lights.. But the wife and I exchange just a couple of small gifts..
daughter and grand kids get the bulk.

but I like the judges way better.

Nice propaganda piece. Everyone who replied had an entirely different reason then 90% of the people in the poll. Not 1 person gave the same reason they did. 45% said because it would put to much financial pressure on them (they're damn near broke) and 45% more said because they ARE broke already and cant afford it.
So instead of being titled Skip Christmas it should have been entitled This Frickin Economy is F'N bad 90% of people polled said they cant afford Christmas. It'll be 75% or more in 4 years.
