good advice... i definitely have zero experience in northface.. i remember bout 10 yrs ago a girl i went on a date with a girl that happened to be wearing one and i had never heard of it before.. she made it seem like it was the coolest jacket..and was shocked I wasn't enamored.. im like its a damn jacket..why would i care what brand it is..wtf

Sounds like it's time for a new wife. How old are these kids that they need $110 coats. This is the problem now a days and this isn't directed towards OP. Everyone has to try to out due every one else. If it isn't expensive or top of the line then no one cares. I just sit here and think of the statement that they will grow out of them in a year, get em a decent inexpensive coat and save your money. Unless they live somewhere where it's the ice ages, they will wear the coat 3 months tops and next year it likely won't fit them.

It was about the wife asking me to shop for kids clothes...like that will happen
If you live where it get's cold then North Face is a solid brand and well worth the investment. Once they grow out of them give them to a poor family. I would recommend buying them in person though, I doubt your old ass knows what kids these days like
