This year was the first time I ever seriously bet on baseball, and I knew for a fact I would lose a lot. But after 2/3 of the season, I learned more then I can even begin to explain. For the last part of year, I consistently withdrew money from my account rather then deposited. So I would say the only way to justify knowing you are going to lose would be if you are trying to make yourself better rather than making the same mistakes over and over again.

you crazy BAS, we all think we will win

the guys that have huge bankrolls and bet $5-$10 game....those are the smart ones that know they will lose and just bet for action....rest of us....stubborn and think we may hit it big.

if i won the lottery tomorrow, I will have enough money and probably will not bet much....i might do $500-$1000 a game for action only (which is probably like if i were to bet $5-$10 at my current status)

It is fun when I win, it is fun when I lose. Addictive personality. Gambling high closely related to cocaine high. Dopamine effects on the brain.

I love it. My two hobbies, poker and golf, involve gambling. I love to bet on drag races also. Betting on NFL gives me a major rooting interest because I don't have an NFL team that I am loyal to.

Yes, it's always good to be kidding.

When I go to Vegas, I take with me what I know I can or Will lose. IF I happen to Win... Big Plus
same goes with Sports gambling...

Now if we were talking about this 10+ Years ago... it would be a different story

I wouldn't call it cliché... I think ONCE you get a lil taste of money your way, on a comeback heart wrencher WIN you EITHER get hooked some how OR you never play again...

I gotta say, it's a lot more fun than lottery tickets and scratchers... can't remember a time whenever I had other players cheering on the same side while I'm picking numbers or busy scratchin' away..

Nothing like sending your money soldiers out into battle and having them come back with prisoners to add to your bankroll at the end of the game/week.
