have an unstable college "friend." he comes around our hometown from time to time to party. he's the type who is very hard ass with a severe case of little man syndrome. we've had our quarrels in college, most notably he'd drink a fifth to himself and create fights. fighting to me is stupid. twice he hit me, and lost in the end. i felt bad both times, even apologized after finishing what was started. fast forward to tonight. he is with other hometown friends of mine at a bar. he was drinking all day and is obliterated by 9pm. he keeps hitting me in the nuts, he's just one of those immature morons. he really was a decent friend, one of those misunderstood kids that all of my tight-knit friends gave a chance. he gets on everybody's nerves. he clocked me in the dick again. i pushed him into a bush while he was outside smoking a cigarette. he went crazy, started walking to his car at our friend's house (no less than 5 miles away.) i called him to apologize. he told me i'd better find him before he reaches his car to get his pistol. i went to where i knew his car was so that i could ensure he didn't reach his gun before he got back to me (his car was at our friend's house.) we beat him back there, so we sat upstairs and watched tv because we figured he was too drunk to make it back. i went downstairs and low and behold...he's standing downstairs. immediately i went over there, and instead of dealing with it i tried to talk to him because i didn't want to stir anything up. he tried to put me in a headlock, yadda yadda hit him a few times and pushed him outside. he left and went to a local gas station. he was texting my friend that he was waiting outside for me. meanwhile, we learned he was sitting at the gas station. i went there and pulled up to him. keep in mind, he is still my friend so i trusted that he wouldn't do anything stupid. i got out and apologized for throwing him on the ground and whatever. he had his gun on him the whole time, throughout the entire night and up to this point. i had no idea he actually had it on him while in a drunken rage. i was very uneasy and he was very drunk. i told him he was bullshitting, didn't have a gun. he pointed that bitch right at my face, red laser pointer and all. i had never been so scared. anybody have any drunken debacles like this?

Yikes.

Tough Love=next time you know he has the gun and is loaded to slip over to the side and call the cops. Extreme? Sure.......... but you may end up in the long run saving him jail time and someone from getting hurt or killed.

maybe if in Jan 2013 you do that, you will have stopped something horrible from happening in June of 2014.

Your buddy has to learn by what ever means, he can't get blasted ass drunk and pack heat. Chances are he can't carry a gun while sober and not be breaking the law. (I doubt he has a CCP)

Sorry to say but your "friend" is a piece of shit. No one needs a "friend" like this guy.

Tough night bud but if you continually put yourself in bad situations then bad things are inevitable.

OK Z, he pointed it in your face. Then what happened?

he said some weird shit about the army wanting mother fuckers like him? lol i have no idea, he was a mess. he just put the gun back in his trunk and i took a breath of relief, there were cops everywhere and he was paranoid. fact of the matter is that i was scared shitless, never had a gun on me before. this after we all give this kid a chance.

I think its time to officially move the friend status , that you have more recently moved to "friend" to now not involved at all.

u are already losing touch with this guy.. next year/time count him out imo

first cars and booze dont mix, second guns and booze dont mix. you really aren't helping this guy, so let him go. when he wants to get better he will. good luck to him.

great statement. only ZJP knows if it applies to this guy.... if it does, maybe something this drastic will help him change his ways if you tell him this shit has to stop ....

cannot imagine having a gun pulled on me.. probably be hard for me to let that go. granted in this situation seemed like he was just trying to show you that he had one....

like studmlb statement though.. surround yourself with good people, good things happen.. continually putting yourself in a bad situations, it inevitable.
