Wku is a good program. They should easily win 10 games next season. Not a bottom program in the least. I predict they will be top 25 next season with an invite to cusa

He will bail the first chance he gets ala Dennis Erickson at Idaho. Guy is a good coach but has no moral compass. WKU, be prepared to be used like a cheap hooker, if they get 18 mos out of this ass clown i would be shocked

to be fair I was only talking about the money...I mean the SEC has money to spend and he was making 3.5 mill.. no idea how much WKU can afford to pay.. maybe 500k?

:think2:

*edit I see he is getting 850k with some stipulations "Western Kentucky gave Petrino a four-year deal with a base annual salary of $850,000. If he terminates the deal at any time, he must re-pay the university $1.2 million in six monthly payments starting the month after he leaves." - http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/...ern_kentucky_hires_petrino_as_football_coach/

Appears that WKU might be a little smarter than people think.

IF he leaves after:

Year 1 - WKU +350,000
Year 2 - WKU -500,000 (avg. 250,000 yr.)
Year 3 - WKU -1,350,000 (avg. 450,00 yr.)
Year 4 - WKU -3,400,000 (avg. 850,000 yr)

Basically your getting a Top 10 college football coach for chump change.

There are (2) worst case scenerios.

#1. Cant bring in any talent this year due to his shady past, wins big with Taggert's players, and bolts after year 1.
#2. Stinks it up for 4 years and sets the program back.

Just cannot see #2 happening. #1 is probably 50/50. Petrino's kids are enrolled at Louisville so mama Petrino might have the final say as to when/if he leaves.

Another good thing WKU does in its buyout clauses is that the new school must agree to a home/home game. That alone could be worth 7 figures.

He won't lose anything...the new school will pay for the buyout, as they do now in some cases.
