Health inspectors have closed two eating areas in the iconic Golden Nugget casino in downtown Las Vegas for numerous code violations including a pest infestation.
The Southern Nevada Health District inspectors ordered the closure of the 24-hour Carson Street Cafe and the employee dining area on Tuesday.
Golden Nugget spokeswoman Tiffany Hauck said in a statement that the casino was upset that someone had dropped the ball. She assured guests it would not happen again.
The health district cited the Carson Street Cafe with 27 demerits.
Health District spokeswoman Jennifer Sizemore said she could not speak to the nature of the violations until she saw the full report.

with so many guests and such a high standard there I am surprised they allow things to get bad. I mean every restaurant could have health code violations but sometimes hearing about them turns you off to a place forever where you cant even eat there again...hopefully for GN that isnt the case and they can "clean their act up"...
