Going up in quality is not nearly as noticeable as going down in quality with a cell phone or anything else in life

Yesterday I dropped my IPHONE 4S in water without my waterproof case.
Needless to say its done.

So I switch out the SIM card into my old IPHONE 3GS until I can get my 5 on Monday.

Needless to say this thing is a piece of shit compared to my 4S.

So much so that I dont even know why I thought this thing was so great once upon a time.

Its slow as shit.
The screen resolution is garbage. I dont know how I thought once upon a time this was great.

But I did indeed think this garbage 3GS was a great phone at one time.

But the funny thing is I did not notice this until I went backwards.

What I mean is when I got my 4S it was not as drastic of a difference going forward as it is now going backwards.
When I got the 4S I said to myself this is decent. Its a little faster then the 3S, the picture on the screen is a little bit clearer.

But it was nothing that I though was drastic at the time.

This got me to thinking.

Does life work this way in every situation?

My conclusion is yes it does.

We dont notice the improvements in life going forward nearly as much as we notice the dis improvements going backwards.

I have 2 trucks.

One of them is a bland 2003 Dodge Ram with no extras.
I have not driven it in 2 years.
It literally sits in my garage doing nothing.

I also have a 2011 GMC seira with all the bells and toys in it.
I remember when I drove off the lot with that truck about 2 years ago that I thought it was an improvement over what I had but it did not seem night and day.

Well sure enough I got into my 2003 dodge the other day because a friend of mine needed help moving.
I did not want to scratch up my good ride and I could not believe I drove that thing for as long as I did.

It had no power. No extras. It was uncomfortable.
I could not wait to get out of it.

So for some reason humans notice changes going in reverse more then they do going forward.

As I have done this examination its seems to be this way 100% in every aspect of life.

If you were to get a 50K a year cut in pay, that would hurt you more then getting a 50K increase in pay would help you.

When you lose a big bet it hurts more then the good feeling you get after you win a big bet.

So maybe this has something to do with peoples lack of motivation in general.
People respond more to the potential of punishment more then they do to the potential of reward.

We are all now dumber after reading that incoherent textual vomit.

The old saying "he just likes to hear himself talk" couldn't be more fitting.

What is happening is its getting power but will only charge up to 10% then you will get the little plug symbol instead of the lightning bolt symbol.
It will not charge over 10%.

So this gives me less then 30 mins worth of usage.

agreed. the most pathetic part of all is how much a stupid cell phone means to this guy. ranting about meaningless material possessions and how they can cause you disappointment, no wonder this society is so fucked up.

Whats even more sad is someone who equates the worlds problems based on what someone says on an internet message board.
This thread had nothing to do with cell phones. It was just one of the 4 examples I used in my post.
