As many of you have heard, the founder of Doc’s Sports Services, Morris “Morey” Moseman, AKA “Doc,” passed away on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012. His passing was peaceful and he was surrounded by family.
Doc was a pioneer of the sports handicapping industry. He started Doc’s Sports Services in 1971 with little more than an idea and a dream. More than 40 years later, Doc’s Sports is widely considered the preeminent sports handicapping service in the nation. Doc’s 40+-year commitment to putting the client first is the reason that he enjoyed so many years of success in the industry, and it’s also the reason that Doc’s Sports continues to be an industry leader in handicapping and customer service.
After dedicating his whole adult life to his company, Doc had started to move out of the spotlight the last seven years before his passing. While he still had a big part in the handicapping aspect of the business, he served more in an advisory fashion, grooming the team that will strive every day to continue his legacy of excellence in handicapping and putting the client first.
The same handicapping team has been in place at Doc’s Sports for 7+ years. We want to assure clients that there will be no change in the day-to-day operations at Doc’s. The Doc’s team is dedicated to continuing to run the business Doc built with the same integrity and top-notch service that clients have enjoyed for more than four decades.
Wade Allen Moseman, our general manager and son of Doc, has grown up in the world of sports betting, as Doc’s Sports Services started a couple years before he was born. He has been working side by side with his father for more than 20 years and knows the ins and outs of the industry better than most. Our lead handicapper, Max, has been groomed by Doc as his successor for more than 10 years. Our site editor and content manager Jeremy Martin, has been in his position for more than a decade.
The bottom line is that even though the sports betting industry lost a legend, Doc’s Sports Services will continue to thrive, and the Doc’s Sports team will continue to operate within the high morals and extreme dedication that Doc has built the company on since Day 1.
