Beginning with the 2013 Daytona 500, new body styles that resemble current production cars will be in place. The new chassis may look differently on the track, but the same strident safety features will remain.

There have been a number of new safety upgrades approved, not only for Cup but the other two national series as well.

*reinforced roof structures...another rollbar.
*reinforced windshield
*reinforced window netting connections
*rear spring tethers to all national series cars.

NASCAR believes safety is an evolutionary process, one that needs to be addressed continually. The sport does a pretty good job of protecting the drivers.
