single player is just for you against the timer. Press multi-player and you get synched up with a real time opponent. I spent a few hours playing. Is a nice diversion. As with any game though, there are people in the world that apparently live, eat, and breath it. So you will have fun playing many people, but occassionally you get synched up with these freaks who have mastered the game. Just finding the opponent usually takes about 5-8 seconds... if you don't find your opponent by then, you are probably toast. However, these freaks can find you in 2-3 seconds consistently.
