Don't know about you guys but I find this to be a disgrace. A few things here...

1) The kid LIVED. How are you going to face the families of kids that didn't live?
2) How did the school and administrators not do everything possible to prevent this incident?
3) How do you know there are long-term effects when it's been two weeks since the shooting?
4) The intercom possibly saved the kid's life.

This is a case of some greedy assholes trying to capitalize on tragedy. Case should be thrown out immediately. Disgusting.

MERIDEN, Connecticut (Reuters) - A $100 million claim on behalf of a 6-year-old survivor is the first legal action to come out of the Connecticut school shooting that left 26 children and adults dead two weeks ago.

The unidentified client, referred to as Jill Doe, heard "cursing, screaming, and shooting" over the school intercom when the gunman, 20-year-old Adam Lanza, opened fire, according to the claim filed by New Haven-based attorney Irv Pinsky.

"As a consequence, the ... child has sustained emotional and psychological trauma and injury, the nature and extent of which are yet to be determined," the claim said.

Pinsky said he filed a claim on Thursday with state Claims Commissioner J. Paul Vance Jr., whose office must give permission before a lawsuit can be filed against the state.

"We all know its going to happen again," Pinsky said on Friday. "Society has to take action."

Twenty children and six adults were shot dead on December 14 at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. The children were all 6 and 7 years old.

Pinsky's claim said that the state Board of Education, Department of Education and Education Commissioner had failed to take appropriate steps to protect children from "foreseeable harm."

It said they had failed to provide a "safe school setting" or design "an effective student safety emergency response plan and protocol."

Pinsky said he was approached by the child's parents within a week of the shooting.

The shooting, which also left the gunman dead, has prompted extensive debate about gun control and the suggestion by the National Rifle Association that schools be patrolled by armed guards. Police have said the gunman killed his mother at their home in Newtown before going to the school.

I know I am going to get ripped for this, I wish that kid was shot and killed. These fucking cocksucker parents trying to cash in. There are acts in society that are unpreventable.

If I am willing to die, I can walk into a mall and blow 30-40 people away before I get capped and there is nothing anyone can do to prevent it.

I hope someone throws a moltav cocktail at the ABA offices. Too many fucking lawyers and too many fucking cocksuckers in society trying to cash in.

Sorry for the rant.

Totally agree with you except for the killing the kid deal. Nobody should be trying to capitalize on this situation.

This is exactly what society has become. My daughter was in a car accident on Christmas Eve, and n ot only do you have to worry about injuries now, the second thing that enters your mind in an accident is how bad is the other persons neck, or back. Thankfully everyone in the accident was fine, and the person she had hit was a really good guy.He was more worried about my daughter then himself. You do not see that very often these days.

lol 100m. Who are they even suing? There is no one to blame. Parents named should be released to the public and the child put up for adoption to a more loving family.

I'd sue em too. Why should my kids have to go to school and sit there like decoy ducks for anyone who wants to walk in and do anything they want. They are FORCED to go and spend 8 hours sitting in a "Gun Free Zone" while people who are "smarter than you" and "know whats good for you" ie: Democrats like the POTUS who send their kids to schools where there just happens to be 11 ARMED guards and NO "gun free zone".
Nobody finds it strange at all that all these laws they pass AGAINST YOU.....NEVER apply to THEM????
Im going to be forced to live like a pussy in a nation full of whimps then they damn sure ought to pay me .....O but i almost forgot...you have to have "Permission" from them to sue them.:think2:

Suits like this tear at the fabric of a society as much as the Adam Lanzas do. Disgraceful and pathetic.

100 million huh? Looks like society would be better off with dead kids than live ones.

The mindset that money grows on trees never ceases to amaze me.

A lawsuit like this should not even be allowed, parents will probably get some kind of money. Makes me sick

In the lawsuit, they are saying their kid will forever be emotionally scared by what they heard over the intercom that morning. What kills me is because of the quick thinking of someone in that office, the intercom probably saved a lot more lives. This is disgusting.

Yes you are going to get ripped for that and you should get ripped for it.
That is a ridiculous comment.

Yeah, fuck you buddy. The lawsuit is disgusting, but wishing death on a traumatized child because of the actions of his douche bag parents is just as revolting.

This is the sad part a 6-yr old kid has no clue what this is. The parents and greedy Lawyers use this to milk the system and sadly it works most of the time. This case should never make it to a court room. The parents are just trying to find a way to wealth by pimping their child this is common sense.
