NASCAR has unveiled a new look for its 2013 Sprint Cup cars. The new designed cars are being called "Generation 6". These new cars bear more manufacturer identity that brings them much more in line with their production-line brothers. It's all being done with the goal of adding brand identity and making the cars look more like vehicles on the street.
Other changes related to the "Generation 6" cars.
*The drivers last name will be featured on the windshield.
*Sponsor decals will not be allowed on headlights and taillights.
*Car numbers will be moved from the lights to the front and rear bumpers.
*A single sponsor logo will be permitted on the roof under the number.
* Team sponsor decals will be permitted to extend past the front edge of the b-post.
*"Step and repeat"/ background patterns will be permitted on the sides of the car.
*Due to the slightly smaller car, the car number will be reduced by 10% and the contingency decals will be reduced to 26 square inches.
