This is the only forum in forum land that only allows you 5 mins to edit a post.
I understand not allowing edits in the sports forums because people make plays and you dont want people changed there plays after the game is over.
But people do not post plays in the offshore forum.
Why only 5 minutes to edit post?
Can that be raised to 15 or 20?

This post is a perfect example. I should have used the word changing instead of changed but my time has run out.

The RX has a tech staff?

I am waiting for my job offer .... )^&&

jk aside we have a great tech guy.. he is more behind the scenes but he did quite well with the forum upgrade a couple months ago imo :toast:

Guys I think the edit feature being limited to 5 mins makes sense for sports forums obviously.. I understand and been there before not being able to edit.. so I agree with Choptalk. Hopefully it can be implemented in offshore for yall.

Option is not there for us to give each individual forum it's own time frame fellas.

Our guy may be able to do it on the back end...waiting to hear back...

Another suggestion: The 60 second wait between searches should be removed.

I don't think that many people would be using the Search feature at the same time to cause clutter on here.

I absolutely hate this as well.

Good job Hache.
I hated that 60 second thing also.
But wanted to get my #1 editing gripe in the open first.

Now, what about fixing the search engine in general, where it doesn't pick up 1/2 the stuff it should?

:)

I made a couple of changes that I hope will help.

Here they are....

This was set to return only 50 results, I changed it to 100
Maximum Search Results to Return
Any search results over this number will be discarded.

<input dir="ltr" id="it_setting[maxresults]_5" class="bginput" tabIndex="1" name="setting[maxresults]" value="100" size="40" type="text">

<tbody>
</tbody>
This was set to 4 letter words, I lowered it to 2
Search Index Minimum Word Length
This option limits the size of words that may be searched for. Smaller words can take longer to search for as they are more common.
Enter the minimum word length that the search engine is to index.
For example, if this is set to 4 then users can't search for 3 letter words.

<input dir="ltr" id="it_setting[minsearchlength]_6" class="bginput" tabIndex="1" name="setting[minsearchlength]" value="2" size="40" type="text">

Thank you Hache much appreciated.

If the change creates a problem, I don't mind going back... But I don't see any problems arising.

What about allowing for a larger PM box, at least for long time posters.

It seems like I'm constantly having to clean out and delete PMs that I don't really want to delete. With the cheap costs of hard disk space nowadays, I can't imaging that allowing larger PM box would make that much of a difference.

I remember in the past we increased this, but I believe it was before the next to last upgrade and then it was went back to default.

I'll inquire with our guy higher up as the option isn't there for us to change...
