A state employee working for the Medical Examiner in Connecticut has been put on administrative leave after being accused of letting her husband see the body of Newtown school gunman Adam Lanza.

Processing technician Jean Henry allegedly let her husband take a look at Lanza's body in the refrigerated room at the Farmington, Conn., facility two days after the shooting, The Hartford Courant reports.
Chief State Medical Examiner H. Wayne Carver II placed Henry on leave four days later and filed an internal complaint, according to the Courant.

Lanza opened fire at Sandy Hook Elementary on December 14 and killed 26 people, including 20 students. The 20-year-old also shot and killed his mother, Nancy, before the mass shooting.

Lanza's father, Peter, claimed his son's body last Thursday. A family spokesman said there were "private arrangements" over the weekend, although he would not elaborate further.
