Don't Worry... They are Only Backup Players :)

[h=3]FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP)[/h] Alabama coach Nick Saban has sent home two backup players from the BCS championship game for violating curfew.

A person with knowledge of the decision identified the players as freshman linebackers Dillon Lee and Ryan Anderson. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the school didn't release the names.

A statement from Saban announced the disciplinary action. Alabama's student newspaper, The Crimson White, first identified the players.

Lee played in eight games, mostly on kickoff coverage. He did intercept a pass in his college debut against Michigan in the season opener and made his only tackle in that game.

Anderson didn't play this season.

The second-ranked Crimson Tide will play No. 1 Notre Dame on Monday night.

No surprise here. The hotel they are staying in is right above the #5 rated Club in the world...

Two good kids who will be excellent players for Bama in the future.

Each learned a valuable lesson.....will help them down the road.

Both are true freshman LBs who were 4star recruits out of high school.

I was surprised to hear that the schools don't have a say in where the teams stay for this game. No way Saban wants them near the Fountain Bleu.

Yea definitely surprising but I think this is where Saban's no nonsense approach and discipline pays off.

I guess the flipside is McCarren and the upperclassmen won their titles, do they want to have some fun also? I know ND has a 11 pm curfew, Bama is probably similar. Seems like players step up when there are suspensions and not the opposite.

Would love to pick your brain at some point. Athletic Admin is what my Master's is in and I'd like to get in the business at some point.
Sounds good man. Start a thread or something sometime. I know I am not the only coach that is on this board. Plus seems to be a good bit of guys with football knowledge all around. :toast:
